The most terrible New Year gifts from our childhood

Even when the family had little money and there were few goods in the stores, New Year's gifts were divided into the desired ones and these.

For modern children, it seems that the choice of a gift is limited only by the financial capabilities of the family. And still 25-30 years ago, everything was different. What gifts did the current parents never want to receive for the New Year?

Warm clothes

It was a convenient option for combining business with pleasure. But only in the opinion of parents and grandmothers. These things did not look attractive, to put it mildly, but the most offensive thing is that they would still be bought without a holiday. That is, this is a planned mandatory purchase, which they decided to pass off as a gift.

Pencils, paints and plasticine

Although the choice of stationery was not huge, such things as pencils, paints and plasticine were still present in our everyday life. And they were also bought as needed. Getting it under the Christmas tree also means losing faith in the magic of the holiday. The exception, of course, were very large or bright, colorful sets of foreign production.

The toy is not for its age

If you were still considered a child, then rubber toys, dolls and baby dolls could get you at an age when they have long lost their relevance. It was also possible to receive a donated gift from relatives - for example, a terribly tasteless-looking purse or a painting. Why is a mystery.

A device for burning

Someone liked these things, of course. But these children were much less than the donated devices for burning. The thing seemed like a good and useful gift, but in the end it was lying around idle.

Sweet tile

It looks like chocolate, only cheaper and tastes like putty. Wasted holiday, in general.
