Can a child contract the coronavirus through a mobile phone and other surfaces?

The COVID-19 virus can remain infectious on surfaces for a long time.

On smartphone screens, money, keys, the coronavirus can remain contagious for up to 28 days, according to researchers at the National Science Agency of Australia, BBC reports.

Preliminary experiments have established that the virus remains vital for only 3 days on banknotes and glass, and up to 6 days on plastic and steel.

Then the researchers had to abandon these judgments. The coronavirus has proven to be far more persistent than people thought. If the room temperature remains above zero without significant fluctuations, and the virus itself is on a smooth surface (plastic or a phone screen), it lives up to 4 weeks.

This means that the coronavirus will bring more problems to humanity than other pathogens (which, on average, survive in favorable conditions for 17 days).

Unfortunately, the threat of catching the virus through public goods or personal devices exists for both children and adults.
