In Ukraine, 25 kopecks and a few bills were withdrawn from circulation: how do shops work now?
From October 1 in Ukraine it is impossible to pay in stores with coins of 25 kopecks. In addition, some old hryvnia banknotes have ceased to be a payment instrument. Be aware of the innovations!
What kind of money remains in use?
In October 2019, the National Bank abandoned coins in denominations of 1, 2 and 5 kopecks; a year later, coins with a denomination of 25 kopecks also became a thing of the past. Coins with denominations of 10 and 50 kopecks remain in use, respectively, prices shops will have to be rounded.In Ukraine, coins with denominations of 1 and 2 UAH continue to operate, coins with denominations of 5 and 10 UAH appeared.
As for banknotes, the national bank has withdrawn from circulation the old hryvnia, which had been issued until 2003.Money that has gone out of circulation can be exchanged for free at any bank in the country.
