Emotions should not be suppressed, but correctly experienced and comprehended.
However, simply denying and suppressing your emotions is also a bad option, and it can negatively affect children.
Scientists have conducted studies that have shown that parents who suppress emotions begin to treat children more coldly, and they, in turn, adopt this behavior.
If a mother accepts her emotions, lives through and works them out (not just aggressively "breaks down" - which, by the way, is more likely after prolonged suppression of emotions) - then this stress is not transmitted to children.
Interestingly, children do not have such a strong emotional connection with fathers, because their stress is not transmitted to children. Perhaps because men are naturally less emotional, and therefore this behavior of a dad is familiar to children. If you allow yourself to experience emotions, then teach this to children. Emotions need to be expressed correctly - however, you cannot forbid them to yourself, because this is a huge stress, which then results in neuroses, anxiety, depression.
