You probably didn't pay enough attention to some of them.
But it happens that even if you spent money on expensive things, they only spoil the overall look and make the interior cheap. We analyze the most popular mistakes.
1. Noticeable wires
You bought a lot of equipment, and, accordingly, it requires an electrical connection. But if the wires hang carelessly, are scattered on the floor here and there, then all this greatly spoils the appearance of your home, makes it sloppy and ill-considered.
The wires can be hidden behind the plinth, tightened with special stylish ties, try to hide the sockets with the included appliances and hanging wires as much as possible.
2. Bedspread on the sofa
Yes, the covered sofa will be less dirty - but it will not be visible either. Even a seemingly stylish bedspread, but thrown over a sofa or armchair, looks just like a TV remote control in a plastic bag. This is a relic of the past, from which it is high time to abandon.
You can always clean the sofa yourself or call the cleaning service once a year.
3. Exotic souvenirs
Colorful plates, terrifying masks, skulls, bones and other parts of animals, numerous figurines - all this looks ridiculous if the overall design of the room is not so exotic. It is better to arrange such souvenirs in a separate corner, and not to place them all over the premises, creating visual noise.
4. Expensive floor vases
Someone receives them as a gift, someone, perhaps, closes the gestalt, embodying an old dream of buying such a design element, but very few people in the house look appropriate. Huge floor vases, as well as huge "crystal" chandeliers, show the desire to turn your home into a palace. But usually there is neither sufficient space nor funds for this. And in a small room with low ceilings, such luxury looks ridiculous and only "eats up" a lot of space.
Inappropriate luxury items also include tapestries, reproductions of famous paintings (especially in heavy frames), carved wooden furniture - all in a small apartment looks useful, then if it is all made "semi-antique" of a century ago (but then all the equipment and any modern innovations will look inappropriate).
5. Tiered ceiling
Until now, such ceilings are piled up from drywall even in the smallest and lowest apartments. For some reason it seems stylish to some. Nevertheless, nothing will expand the space and it will add air to the room like a regular flat ceiling, better white.
The less the ceiling attracts attention, the wider and higher the room seems to be. Plasterboard multi-tiered ceilings often give the impression that they are "creative" instead of a more careful approach to the design of the room as a whole.
6. Arches
Not so long ago, doorways in the form of an arch were very fashionable - somewhere at the same time as the concept of "renovation". But now this is extra labor and financial costs. Interior designers dissuade their clients from the idea of making an arch - this type of doorway cheapens the entire interior and sends it into the past.
