Why teach your child letters?

We decided to start with vowels, for the lesson we need cardboard cards on which we will put consonants:

• A, O, U, S, E with a red marker,
• I, E, YU, I, E in blue marker.

Do not forget to copy letters for yourself on the back of each piece of paper, so that you do not have to turn the cardboard over each time.

• We learn consonants in pairs: A - I, O - E, U - YU, Y - I, E - E.

First name the letters to your child, then encourage him to pronounce the letters on his own. When the material is fixed, go to the next level, asking the child to choose a specific letter from the entire list.

Vowel memorization games for kids

Start playing with 6 cards, ask the child to name the letters that he recognizes, and name the others yourself. Gradually add new letters, bringing the number of cards to 10 pieces. Work on problematic letters.

How to learn consonants: playing technique 

There are more consonants than vowels; you will have to spend more time studying them. Parents, remember that it is important to be patient. If the child realizes that you are angry or unhappy with him, he will close from you.

• Prepare a table of six lines, on the top line write hard consonants in blue marker, soft consonants in green.
• In the rest of the lines we enter short open syllables.

The top row of the table should look like this: B - Bb - C - Bb - G - Gb and so on.

The rest of the table rows look like this (for example B):

• BA BYA,
• BU BYU,
• BO BYO,
• WOULD BE,
• BE BE.

Practice only one 6 sounds every day.

As you can see, teaching a child letters is easy if you tune in to the fact that the process will be long. Constant repetition is important in the study. Your child may forget what you learned just yesterday, and that's okay. If the child absorbs too little information, then either you started learning letters too early, or you are giving a lot of information at one time. In this case, you can go up to three bars a day. Remember that any system of learning letters is not a guide that cannot be deviated from.
