Lice prevention in a child

Lice at least once in their lives are picked up by almost all children. You don't need to be afraid of this, but it's worth trying to avoid it.

Pediculosis is quite easy to catch - sometimes it is enough to use someone else's panama hat, comb or towel once. Therefore, of course, first of all, children need to be taught hygiene rulesso that they clearly understand what things cannot be shared with other people.

What else can parents do to prevent head lice in a child?

1. Cut and braid your hair

The longer and more loose the hair, the easier it is to pick up lice. Therefore, at least in the summer period, it is advisable to cut the boys shorter (so the head will be less hot), and the girls to style their hair in neat hairstyles. This is especially true if you go to places where children gather.

2. Use protective sprays

Sometimes parents wash their child's hair with anti-lice shampoo "for prevention." But such shampoos are very strong remedies, if they are abused, they can cause allergies, ruin hair, and badly affect the scalp.

Lice-repellent protective sprays do not have this negative effect. It is enough to apply them in a small amount on the hair before going to a crowded place.

3. Check your hair regularly for lice

Your child's hair should be examined at least once a week. If you notice dark or light dense grains "glued" to your hair - this is "it". The sooner head lice is detected, the easier it is to treat it and the less the risk that the whole family will become infected.

4. Wash and wash your personal hygiene items regularly

Frequent change of towels and bed linen, washing hats, panamas, scarves, hair ties, and thorough washing of the comb will help to avoid lice.
