Even a baby may need vision correction - and he can also wear contact lenses.
1. Contact lenses for children are selected and prescribed by an ophthalmologist after a series of studies. In ordinary opticians, children are not taken care of (or, in any case, it is better not to risk it by going there).
The indication for the appointment of contact lenses may be congenital cataracts, rapidly progressing myopia.
2. Most often, children are prescribed lenses from 6-7 years old, but they can also be prescribed for infants under one year old. In this case, the responsibility for correct use and sterility rests entirely with the parents.
3. In most cases, children are prescribed regular soft contact lenses. Ideally, you need to use disposable, but most often they buy reusable ones that need special care and disinfection.
4. The child must be ready to wear the lenses. In no case should the rules of hygiene be violated in handling them. If a child does not show due responsibility, reaches into the eyes with dirty hands, forgets to remove and change lenses on time, this can cost him his health.5. The child must clearly remember that the lenses cannot be washed in tap water, nor can they swim in ponds and pools - it is dangerous to introduce a serious infection.
6. Contact lenses are comfortable for children who play sports - they fit snugly on the eye. But everyone who has no contraindications should go in for sports.
7. The wearing of contact lenses by a child is prohibited in a number of diseases: seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, diseases cornea, etc. In any case, a doctor should prescribe a method of vision correction taking into account concomitant diseases.
