Mattresses need to be cleaned on a regular basis - but you don't need to contact the clearinghouse for this.

On the mattress, a lot of mud - from sweat and dust to dust mites. Many people use mattresses for decades, until they fail completely - and no longer do regular cleaning.

It is worth getting rid of such a dismissive approach to your health and cleanliness at home. We will tell you how to clean the mattress with high quality yourself.

1. Vacuum cleaning

Thoroughly vacuum the mattress from all sides, thus removing all foreign debris from it: hair, wool, crumbs, partially dust, etc.

2. Removing stains

Treat the stains on the mattress with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid soap. Or another option is a mixture of salt and lemon juice (leave on stains for 1 hour, remove with a towel).

3. Removing odors

You will need baking soda. Sprinkle it over the entire surface of the mattress, leave it for a few hours and vacuum up the residue. Soda will help get rid of excess moisture and odors (of course, if we are not talking about a mattress that no one has cleaned for 50 years).

4. Drying

Air dry your mattress, preferably in the sun. Ultraviolet kills some harmful microorganisms well.

5. Mattress cover

Ideally, of course, you should purchase it with the mattress and start using it right away. But even after some time and after cleaning, it is not too late to protect your mattress from dirt with a cover.
