Sunburn can be dangerous for anyone - but pregnant women should be especially careful.
1. Child development pathologies. Excess ultraviolet radiation and prolonged exposure to high temperatures can negatively affect the development of the child's nervous system, because they break down the necessary folic acid in the mother's body.
Dangerous consequences are also possible in the form of malformations of the bladder and intestines.
2. Excessive pigmentation. It's not dangerous, but rather frustrating. Pregnant women already often face hyperpigmentation in the summer, and if you purposefully sunbathe, it is impossible to predict how many spots and what size will eventually appear.
3. Cancer risk. Excess UV light can cause skin cancer, especially in people with many moles. For pregnant women, whose body is especially sensitive to external factors, this is an area of particular risk.
4. Hypertonicity of the uterus. If you have unstable blood pressure, sunburn and prolonged exposure to the sun can provoke uterine hypertonicity and even bleeding.5. Stretch marks. Under the influence of the sun, the skin becomes thinner and dryer, not elastic. This increases the risk of stretch marks on any part of the body, which are almost impossible to get rid of completely.
6. Overheat. It can affect both the pregnant woman and the baby in her belly. Prolonged overheating can damage the child's brain.
