1. No center of gravity

If you did not create it yourself, then any random object can become the center of attention (which is not good for the impression of the interior), and the living room itself will look disproportionate and chaotic.

2. No atmosphere and personality of the owners

Add "yourself" to the interior: items that represent your interests (books, magazines, puzzles, creativity, handicrafts, etc.), it is not necessary to keep everything perfectly tucked away in the boxes. Strike a balance between emptiness and cluttered decor: a couple of paintings, or posters, or photographs have not bothered anyone yet.

Add unusual items to the interior that will delight you and attract the attention of guests. It can be anything: even an unusual photo wallpaper, even a non-standard sofa or a table, a bar built into the armchair, old a turntable with a collection of records, unusual lamps, table football, mirrors in unusual frames, a clock on the whole wall and etc.

3. Ill-conceived lighting

Lighting should be planned at an early stage of the renovation, when the wires are being laid (it is too late to plan with wallpaper pasted on). And even then you need to imagine where and what kind of furniture you will have.

Determine immediately the number of light sources on the ceiling based on the zonal delimitation. You may not need a central chandelier at all, but 2-3 groups of ceiling lights are great.

Add more outlets to the project than initially thought necessary. Then you can use them to connect additional floor lamps or lamps.

4. Unnecessary items

Furniture should not only be stylish, but also truly functional. If you don't know what you will put on the shelves, but hang them up just in case, they will become a place for collecting dust and all sorts of "random" items that have nowhere else to put. The result is a mess and visual noise.

If you do not need a coffee or coffee table for specific practical actions, then do not clutter up the space, think about how you can build the composition differently without filling it unnecessary things.

5. Lack of colors

Choosing shades in an interior is an art. And such a style as kitsch, when several interior styles, textures, radically different are mixed together colors are not a combination of everything, but the aerobatics of design so that the result is solid, and not ridiculous. Therefore, you should not rely too much on your instinct.

To paint each wall in its own color and buy 4 chairs in completely different styles and colors is an unjustified risk of not getting the result you would like.

Do not go to the opposite extreme and make the whole room, for example, beige. Without color accents, total beige will turn out to be rather dull.
