Diaper allergies are rare but real. So organism the baby may react to the absorbent layer in the diaper, fragrance, impregnation of the inner layer, etc.

How allergies manifest themselves: first of all, it is itching, redness at the point of contact of the diaper with the skin. There may also be a small rash, swelling. Accordingly, the child becomes whiny, irritable, eats and sleeps worse.

How to distinguish allergies from other skin problems in babies

With diaper dermatitis, the skin "gets wet". In case of allergies, it dries and flakes.

Ditathesis and food allergies are manifested primarily by rashes on the cheeks, neck, head. A diaper allergy starts underneath.

With herpes, the rash manifests itself in the form of bubbles filled with liquid, with candidiasis - the lesions are clearly delineated, in their place there are bubbles or sores.

An allergy can be indicated by the problem as soon as you changed the brand of diapers.

To make a diagnosis, you must definitely contact your pediatrician. And, of course, it is important to make sure that the child does not walk in a wet diaper for a long time, and that the skin under it is regularly treated with special protective agents (cream, ointment, powder).

How does allergy manifest itself?

Most often it is redness and swelling of the genitals. In immunocompromised children, symptoms may spread to other parts of the body.

If only the bottom of the child turns red, try spreading it with a healing cream intended for children. If the redness improves in an hour or two, then it's not an allergy.

How to avoid allergies

This is such an individual thing that there is no one hundred percent recipe. Try to buy diapers from trusted, world famous manufacturers, as well as from reliable chain stores or pharmacies.
