Many Ukrainians continue to use bleach for disinfection.

When we hear the smell of bleach, we involuntarily recall purity and disinfection.

During a pandemic, this is especially important, and chlorine is really capable of killing bacteria and viruses. Why then do doctors not advise using this remedy at home?

According to the therapist and toxicologist Alexei Vodovozov, the problem with bleach is that it not only cleans surfaces, but also undermines human health.

Bleach is a powerful and toxic disinfectant. They work with her in a protective mask that does not allow poisonous vapors to pass through, and gloves. Otherwise, you can get chemical burns of the skin and poisoning with very serious consequences.
In addition, when cleaning with bleach, the owner and all people living in an apartment or house should take a walk, until the poisonous vapors disappear, which is impossible now, during the period of self-isolation due to the outbreak coronavirus.
Alcohol-based products are a good alternative. Home disinfectants should be less hazardous than the bleach used in industrial facilities or clinics.
