Why not all pregnant women have toxicosis and what it says

Toxicosis is a frequent companion of pregnancy. And if it is not there, do you need to worry?

Toxicosis can manifest itself from the first days pregnancy in the form of nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, increased sensitivity to odors, fever.

If the toxicosis is moderate, there is no loss of consciousness and exhausting vomiting, then pregnant women usually do not need medical assistance, and the child is not in danger (however, it is worth consulting with a gynecologist in any case).

Toxicosis is the reaction of the body of the expectant mother to the fetus. Some pregnant women who expected that their situation would be accompanied by nausea and other troubles may begin to worry: if there is no toxicosis, is the pregnancy developing normally?

Both the presence and absence of toxicosis is a normal phenomenon. Toxicosis can pass easily and end quickly - so you simply won't notice it. For example, blame mood swings and skin rashes for other causes.

The absence of toxicosis is a sign of the full compatibility of the organisms of the mother and child.

What aggravates toxicosis:

  • smoking and drinking alcohol;
  • junk food: fatty, fried, smoked, spicy, etc.;
  • hormone problems;
  • rhesus conflict.

What the absence of toxicosis says:

  • the mother's body has enough of all vitamins and minerals;
  • no Rh-conflict;
  • mom has good health and a stable nervous system;
  • mom gets enough rest and moves, eats well, drinks water;
  • the fetus has no pathologies.

Psychological attitude is also very important: good mood, focus on a healthy lifestyle, calmness, minimization of stress. Often women are deliberately looking for or provoking symptoms of toxicosis in themselves in order to feel "more pregnant" when there is no belly yet, and they want to get some attention and sympathy.

However, pregnancy without toxicosis is completely normal. It only says that you are all right.

Of course, this does not negate the need to regularly check the course of pregnancy with a gynecologist and do screenings.

When to see a doctor?

Of course - when the toxicosis is very severe and makes normal daily life impossible.

It is also worth worrying if toxicosis was, but stopped very abruptly. In this case, you also need to see a doctor and check the condition of the fetus.

Medical help may be needed if toxicosis lasts longer than 12 weeks and a different Rh factor in the baby's mom and dad.
