The principles of the Victorian diet

Who would have thought that the nutrition of the poor of the 19th century would turn into a whole system after two hundred years?

It all started like that. Sir William wrote an article in 1863 detailing his experience of losing weight on the nutrition system prescribed by Dr. Harvey. The doctor was an innovator in human physiology, and when his friend William Bunting reached a critical weight of over 100 kilograms, he recommended that he switch to the "poor man's diet." That is, to refuse all products that were abused in high society. Namely: alcohol, sugar, butter, fatty meat, flour and confectionery.

Thanks to this nutritional system, William managed to lose up to 30 kg with only one refusal from foods that contain sugar. The system remains operational. Recent studies have shown that people who have resorted to the "poor man's diet" were able to reduce their weight in a week by 10%. Basic principles of nutrition: "no" to fatty, sweet, starchy foods, fried and semi-finished products. Food should be as simple and easy to prepare as possible.
