We are all unique in our own way: Russians, Americans, Germans... Different mentality, different values, different attitudes towards money, parenting, relationships. Today I want to talk specifically about the Germans and their frugality. It is amazing, but they are able to accumulate very impressive sums, while not having such high income! It seems that the ability to save is inherent in the German people! Or they pass on their skills from generation to generation. In any case, you should learn from them to save!

How do Germans save?

Accumulation of funds

This should be instilled with the parents. If parents are spenders, even if their chickens don’t peck money, the children will grow up like that, and there it is not known how they will have finances in life. The Germans consider one of the types of income - budget savings. As I said, it all starts from childhood. So every young child should have a piggy bank, and he can put there either all his pocket money, or some part of it. The child also learns patience, because instead of taking and spending money now on sweets, he will save up every day and will be able to buy himself an expensive toy.

The Germans have it in every family, and with age it becomes stronger. In fact, accumulation becomes a kind of human life. Let it even be just a bank for storing small change, but it will save some of the money for a year, and then exchange it for paper money. The amount of accumulated small change sometimes even allows you to go on vacation.

Buying a car

A German will buy himself a new car only if its cost is slightly less than half a year's income! If this is not the case, then the person will drive an old car. And yes, he will save!

Savings on utility bills

An interesting fact, but the Germans sometimes turn off the lights in the house and sit by candlelight, if it is convenient for them. At night, they cut off all power, and as a result, utility bills come out very pleasant. Washing is carried out only when the machine is completely filled - this way both light and water are saved. A dishwasher is also used to save water.

Food purchase

Why Purchase? Because the Germans don't run every day or every other day to the store. They prefer to buy at once many products with a good shelf life, choosing a product at discounts or, as we have, at red / yellow price tags. Firstly, there is savings on food, and secondly, on gasoline, because you don't have to go to the supermarket day after day.

Buying clothes

No, Germans are not used to buying second-hand clothes. On the contrary, they buy themselves only high-quality and expensive clothes, they just wait for sales and discounts! Good clothes serve them for a single season.

Saving at home

Germans are not used to contacting craftsmen and specialists if they need to make repairs or any other household chores. And in this they also have huge savings. The Germans even wash the car themselves, instead of spending money on salon services.

Recording expenses

Now this has also become common in our country, but nevertheless, most Russians sometimes do not even remember what exactly they spent an impressive part of their salary on. The Germans keep a record of expenses. This way they can see what they spend the most on, which means they can, if possible, reduce the cost of certain things or products.

Isn't it time for us to adopt such frugality from the Germans? What do you think?
