Staphylococcus aureus (namely 14 of its species, most of which belong to the opportunistic flora) are considered by doctors to be one of the most common causative agents of ENT diseases.
According to statistics, every fifth earthling is a carrier of staphylococcus, but not every one of these people has this globular prokaryote immediately causes inflammation in the throat.
In principle, every healthy person has staphylococci in the nasopharynx. However, they are present there in very small numbers, without causing any concern to the wearer. But in the case of a decrease in immunity (regardless of the reason) or when some additional infection enters the body, staphylococcus bacteria are activated, and the suppression of healthy cells begins. Moreover, with the blood flow or movement of lymph, these harmful organisms can enter other organs.
Diagnostics of the staphylococcus in the throat
Staphylococcus aureus in the throat helps to identify modern diagnostic methods, including:
- microbiological method, namely bacterial sowing from the mucous membrane of the pharynx with washing / sowing on a special medium;
- serological blood test using 23 bacteriophages of 4 groups.
If Staphylococcus aureus is found in a throat culture, antibiotic treatment is prescribed (but all individually) after determining the sensitivity, as well as the patient's resistance to certain medicines.
Treating an infection
Therapy of staphylococcus in the throat area is based on an integrated approach. But it is ineffective without adequate measures for the treatment of concomitant diseases, which reduce the reactivity of the human body.
1. First, the action of the actual causative agent of infection is suppressed with the help of antibacterial drugs, bacteriophages and immunoglobulins.
2. Then you need to restore immunity.
3. This is followed by local treatment with antiseptics and anti-inflammatory drugs (irrigation of the throat, rinsing, inhalations, coupled with applications).
Antibiotic therapy
In principle, this pathogenic microorganism is highly resistant to antibacterial agents. And they should be prescribed only by the attending physician who has studied the clinical picture of a particular patient as a whole.
Complex bacteriophage
It complements antibiotic therapy in particularly difficult cases. Many doctors recommend starting treatment with bacteriophages for uncomplicated forms of staphylococcus in the throat. These drugs themselves are viruses, but they kill staphylococci.
The complex bacteriophage is also recommended for use in children as mono-therapy.
Local treatment
It includes (in strict accordance with a specially designed scheme and nothing else):
- mandatory rinsing with antiseptics;
- irrigation of the throat with special aerosols, sprays;
- applications by staphylococcal bacteriophage;
- anti-inflammatory and disinfectant pastilles, tablets (resorption);
- irrigation of the throat with decoctions of medicinal herbs.
