Colored mascara: would you dare to make such a change in eye makeup?

Among all the decorative cosmetics, colored mascara is perhaps one of the most controversial. It seems like they share photos of their vivid images on the network, and many people like it, they would decide to walk with scarlet or bright blue eyelashes. But on the street you rarely meet anyone with colored mascara on their eyelashes.

We must really try to choose shades of shadows for colored eyelashes so that the makeup is beautiful and "wearable" on weekdays, and not just makeup for the sake of makeup.

I consider the example above to be one of the few successful uses of colored ink: the image came out frosty, like ice patterns on the windows.

Peach eyeshadows with blue mascara go well. As an example - Olivia Wilde's makeup (which many of you remember well from the TV series "House Doctor") at the recent Film Independent Spirit Award 2020.

Please note: blue mascara on the upper lashes, purple on the lower. In combination with peach shades of eyeshadow it looks beautiful and fresh. Compared to Olivia's makeup last year, now she looks much younger in this way. And eye makeup played an important role here.

When using colored mascara, it is very important to choose a shade of shadows that, in combination, will not resemble the makeup of saleswomen in a stall or conductors. The easiest way in this regard is simply to paint over the lower eyelashes with colored mascara, and leave the upper ones for the classic black mascara.

If your eyelashes are too dense and no colored mascara gives the declared color when dyeing, then there is a little life hack for such people. Just powder some lashes to brighten the color of the mascara, or apply a base underneath the mascara.

Shade of mascara to match the color of the eyes

There are some recommendations (not rules, but recommendations) makeup artists on the selection of a shade of mascara for the color of the eyes. You can, of course, not follow them, it will just be more convenient to be guided by the selection of mascara.

Brown - universal, for any eye color. With brown mascara, you can make your eyelashes visually voluminous.
Red and orange shades - under blue eyes.
Green, yellow and dark blue shades are for brown-eyed beauties.
Blue, plum and purple - under green eyes.

You can play with contrast and choose a shade of mascara that is opposite to the color of the eyes (or shadows). In this case, it is convenient to use Oswald's circle.

If you are using colored mascara, then it is recommended not to add any other bright accents (for example, bright blush instead of muted pink shades, strong lipstick and etc.). Otherwise, the make-up can generally come out, as many say, "collective farm".
