When 4 years ago I got a job in a shop of professional materials and cosmetics for beauty salons, I almost immediately bought myself everything I needed for a gel polish so that I could do it myself at home. This is such an economy! Especially from me, because I bought everything at an employee discount.
According to my calculations, I got the entire initial set as 3-4 times to go to the covering to the master. Over time, I bought a manicure machine and new colors.
For two years, every 3-4 weeks, I regularly did my own coated manicure. I studied from the video masters, read a lot of different information, but still, after a couple of weeks, the coating fell off somewhere. I learned from my mistakes, gained experience. And when everything started to work out well, a new problem appeared. Allergy to the coating, I wrote about it on the channel for a long time.
Now, when I remember allergies as a bad dream, and I know which brand of gel polish I am not allergic to, I will never return to making the coating myself.
I sold everything I had: a lamp, gel polishes, aids, nail designs. I even gave the container in which I kept it all to the customer.
Why don't I want to cover myself anymore? My back ached terribly after 3-4 hours of sitting at a manicure. My eyes ached as if sand had been poured into them. Even though I liked it all, I loved to make designs, I tried to learn to do it better, and not a dick in an hour.
Now I understand that you cannot do it yourself without proper knowledge, like a manicure master. Probably it is worth clarifying how good master of manicure, because I have already seen enough of the terrible work of some masters.
Many people do their own manicure just for the sake of economy, they do not try to find out how to do it correctly, they do not even know about architecture, or how a poorly cleaned pterygium affects naboutsku coverage. They do not study the mistakes they make, because sometimes a seemingly insignificant mistake can lead to sad consequences and problems with nails.
Now I cover my nails with ordinary transparent varnish, tried a couple of times to go back to covering with gel varnish, but realized that this was not mine at all. I'm not comfortable walking with the coating or I'm bored with the color. My nails grow quickly. A week later, the grown manicure looked like I had done it much earlier, and I wanted to take it off.
Maybe someday I will return to applying gel polish again in the salon, but I can say with great confidence that I will never do the coating myself again.
Yes, many will disagree with me. Yes, at first I was also in the "do it all yourself at home" camp. Such self-confidence in everyone, without exception, appears when they have done something well with their own hands. Only now the moment comes when you want to do better than good. And here, whatever one may say - only to the master.
