What advice from the book "young grandmother" is harmful to the skin. And what Chizu Saeki really looks like

Hello dear readers! :-)

I ordered this book for fun. I have a very good attitude towards Japanese cosmetics and, in general, their approach to aesthetics, which is based on scientific research. Therefore, I thought that a book with a loud title "Japanese revolution in skin care"will be serious, and will be able to bring something new to my knowledge.

How wrong I was ...

The author of the book, Chizu Saeki, in her own words is a practicing cosmetologist and the most respected beauty consultant in Japan. She has collaborated with brands such as Guerlain and Dior. And she has written over 30 books.

Sounds pretty, isn't it? I just want to drop everything and start reading a book by an authoritative author.

One of her books, "The Japanese Revolution in Skin Care", has been translated into Russian. Many who recommend this book on social networks imply the age of the author. Like, she is 73 years old and look how young she looks. Only at the time of writing the book, Chizu Saeki was 68 years old, and the photo on the cover has not changed in all the years since its publication.

Here is a photo of Chizu for 2018 at one of the seminars: not a staged photo, without a competent "rejuvenating" play of light and foreshortening.

Now I'm being showered with tomatoes, but Chizu looks at his age. In our SNT, grandmothers are sitting in the administration for 70-80 years old, they look the same, only a little larger. Why am I doing this? And besides, there is no point in the recommendation of the book to weave the age of the author, since you are opponents of everything related to marketing

The book has 124 pages. More than half - just "water", repetition from chapter to chapter of the same. And of course, the mention of an innovative method that Chizu Saeki herself came up with - lotion-mask, I'm terribly tired of it, because it is mentioned at least 18 times. The other half are massage pictures of a young Japanese model. Everything is according to the classics of modern Facebook building. Of course, who should be shown the anti-aging massage technique if not 20-30-year-olds :-))

Not only is there nothing new and secret in this book, but I was even more surprised by some of the tips that the # 1 beauty consultant in Japan writes about.

The first thing that immediately plunged me into bewilderment was that she always advises a face scrub, while she often mentions that the skin needs to be protected. Pure bipolar. Of course, there was a "secret" when using the scrub: if the scrub contains too large abrasive particles, add soap and water to it.

But, dear Chizu, it doesn't work that way. Well, you will achieve "softening" of the scrub, but even then there will be no sense - which is laid by the author herself - in the scrub. And for a long time, they have invented more gentle means for exfoliating dead skin particles, from which there are many times more benefits. For example, face gommage was invented and sold even before Chizu's book was written.

The author advises washing your face more thoroughly in the T-zone. On the next page, we see a great advice that you need to avoid excessive washing, and sometimes even refuse it altogether.

But what else I really liked: "If you spent 30 minutes on makeup, then it will take you the same amount of time to remove it.". Sometimes the statements of this wonderful woman lead me into a stupor and they can be safely published in a book and called it "Harmful advice of grandmother Chizu".

If a woman does evening or some complex make-up (for example, a wedding or lifting) and it took time hour, then she has to sit and rub her skin with makeup remover for an hour until her skin turns to dust? Yes, even half an hour for make-up remover is already a lot.

At the beginning of this article, I mentioned an innovative lotion mask that Chizu invented. You may be wondering what kind of ingenious invention it is. And this is nothing more than a dry sheet mask dipped in lotion and applied to the face for 3 minutes. Really? So my grandmother did, well, kamon. To give this miracle of the beauty industry 3 sheets and mention it 18 times in the book - you can't imagine better.

Another bad advice from Grandma Chizu. The author mentions the importance of Sanskrin in the book, but her way of applying sunscreen is a separate topic.

After my morning skincare routine, I mix equal amounts of sunscreen and any emulsion or makeup base and apply the resulting composition to my face.

Dear ladies, those who read this wonderful book and decided to use this life hack - stop doing this. Then there will be no sense from sunscreen, so you are wasting sanskrin, which, by the way, is not cheap. Let me remind you that to fully protect the face, you need to apply 2 mg of Sanskrin per 1 square centimeter of the face, this was not my idea, these are FDA standards.

Another super secret Chizu advises people with acne

She simply advises to wipe the newly formed pimple with alcohol lotion, and if the abscess has already formed, just squeeze it out. She even tells how to do it right. And of course, the author advises those with acne skin to use a scrub. For this advice, all cosmetologists should love Chizu, because the flow of clients with acne will only increase for cleansing.

If you have acne, the best way to deal with this issue is a dermatologist, he will not advise you to squeeze out the pimple, after which you will have post-acne. And even more so, he will not advise using a scrub, especially if you have active inflammation, so you will further aggravate the situation.

One of my favorite illustrations. That is, someone recently has the rings of Venus, looks at himself in the mirror from above and suddenly realizes... that the rings of Venus were 5 years ago! And in 5 years they will be hidden by the chin.

Conclusion

From this book, I did not learn anything new for myself, for all skin types and problems with it, the author recommended the same thing. Roughly speaking, the book is painted with one piece of advice for all occasions.

A bunch of weird tips, for example, she falls in love every day with famous men and you do the same. Some of them are harmful. What is normal? Beginning beauty bloggers write the same on Zen or Instagram.

For the present time, the book is not relevant. If anyone reads me from Kaliningrad - write to the post office, I can give it away for nothing. I don’t need such literature for nothing. There are better books out there, even in terms of basic care. If you are interested in this heading (book reviews) - put "thumbs up" so that I know.

Of course, some of you will now think, they say, some blogger has infringed on the beauty consultant number 1, look what! Well, let's now, in front of everyone who calls himself number one in any field, nod his mane at any of their advice written in the book. Developing critical thinking didn't seem to hurt anyone.
