What to do if you got a bad haircut

With an unsuccessful haircut, I think, the girl who never had a haircut there did not leave the salon :-) The problem is familiar to many.

Sometimes a bad haircut does not lead to the best consequences: depression, low self-esteem, tears. tantrums and considerable expenses to fix it all, if everything is really bad.

Do not go to extremes, for example, shaving under a typewriter (yes, sometimes ladies can freak out like that) or hair extensions: it's expensive (extra 10 thousand rubles do not exist) and if you cut your hair very short, there may simply be nothing to build up.

Make it a rule: if you go to a new master, then take a picture of your hair before visiting, let a friend or husband help. So that in case of failure there is something to appeal if the question goes further than a simple fix.

Not always a bad haircut is the fault of the master. Perhaps you were not able to correctly convey to him the information what kind of haircut you wanted. For example, I know that I can't explain, and I just search the Internet for a picture with the desired haircut. But even this option does not always help: you found a photo of a girl with an ideal, as you think, haircut, but did not take into account that the model is different hair texture, face shape, etc. Even if the master makes you a 1 in 1 haircut like in the photo, there is a chance that you will be unhappy.

After each haircut, immediately ask for a small mirror to view the rear view. Usually, the master does not have to ask for a mirror so that you appreciate the work, but if he knows that the haircut did not work out, he may not say anything. Consider everything carefully and try not to rush, because it will not always be possible to agree with the master or the administration of the salon, if you only notice the trimmed bald spot at home.

If you notice a discrepancy between what you want and an actual, calm tone, ask the hairdresser why this happened and explain what you don't like. The hairdresser is obliged to fix it for free, refer to Article 29 of the Consumer Protection Law.

The reasons may be in the features of the face, for example, a haircut will look great on a round face, but your face is thin.

If you have long hair and came to trim the ends a little, but instead of the desired 1 cm, the master removed, for example, three. Perhaps your hair ends were split, and the hairdresser decided to remove them as much as possible, this is even good.

The master had to say about these reasons in advance, discuss the haircut with you and the condition of the hair before cutting. But what if the reason for the failure was not well-intentioned? For example, a newbie master got nervous, was not in the mood, felt bad or even flew in the clouds immersed in his problems, and did not focus on the haircut and specifically ruined it.

What to do in such a situation?

Tell the master about his mistake and ask him to fix everything. It is possible that the haircut will be shorter than planned. The main thing is that the master can fix, and not make it worse. Another option - feel free to demand a reduction in payment for the work performed, all the same Article 29 of the "Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights" allows you to do this.

Do not shout or be rude to the master! It is clear that sometimes it is difficult to do this, but we are adults and educated people. Just keep in mind that if the master gets nervous after a quarrel, then he will hardly be able to fix it well.

If you do not agree to correct the haircut with this master (and I understand you perfectly, trust is gone), you may be offered a haircut correction by another master.

You may also be offered a discount for a haircut or a discount on subsequent visits. Or they won't take money from you at all. But let's not abuse this in any incomprehensible situation, but only if the haircut really turned out to be terrible.

If it was not possible to resolve the issue peacefully, then you have the right to draw up a claim in writing, in two copies, and provide it to the salon management. How you will send is up to you: you can provide it personally, or you can send it by registered mail or better with a list of attachments (and this is where the photos we took before and after visiting the salon came in handy; even better if the consequences of a bad haircut are photographed right in the salon).

The salon management is obliged to consider your claim and take action within 10 days from the date of receipt of the letter. If you have not received an answer or greetings, and you are not going to leave this unpunished, then the direct road to court. It is very likely that the court will be on your side.

Sometimes a deplorable haircut does not depend on the status of the salon. This may be one of the most expensive salons in the city, the price is not at all an indicator of a job well done.

I had an experience with a bad haircut. Then I had long hair, a ladder cut, and I wanted to go out gradually to a straight cut. But the master took everything literally and just cut off a piece for me, without doing anything to make the haircut wearable, not pieces. Then I patted their nerves well :-) For the cause.
