Should I shave my arm hair?

One of the modern criteria for a well-groomed girl is the absence of body hair, as well as thick and healthy hair on the head.

We will not touch on ladies who voluntarily grow vegetation in the armpits, on their legs and in bikini area, and even specially photograph it all and put it on the Internet so that everyone appreciates the level of her independence. Only one question arises: are they generally aware that this is, at least, not hygienic? And the fact that hair perfectly absorbs the smell of sweat? Especially when it comes to armpits or, even worse, a bikini.

Well, okay, let's skip this and talk about places on the body that are not customary to shave - hands.

Not all women can boast of light and short hairs on their arms. There can be several reasons for the dense vegetation on the body.

1. Hormonal disorders in women

This is over or under production of hormones. The causes of hormonal changes can be both congenital and acquired: due to a previous illness, smoking, use alcohol, heavy physical activity, gynecological diseases, taking hormonal drugs, lack of vitamins and nutrients substances.

Increased body hair growth is one of the symptoms of hormonal imbalance.

2. Genetic predisposition

Someone has thick and dense hair on the head, someone has sparse and thin hair. The same goes for body hair, and people with thick head hair tend to have thicker body hair. Predominantly increased body hair is characteristic of residents of southern countries.

If you have not had any relatives suffering from excessive hairiness in your family, then visit an endocrinologist before removing hair. After the tests, he will find out the reason for the active growth of hair on the body and prescribe treatment.

If the hair on your hands is uncomfortable, then you can and even need to remove it, so you will feel more comfortable psychologically. There are no contraindications for this. Soon there will be a lot of material on how psychological discomfort affects health, and on appearance in particular. It's just that people don't talk about it publicly.

What is the best way to remove arm hair?

Forget about the razor. When you shave, you get an even cut of the hair, and when it starts growing again, you get bristles, when you touch it, the sensations are not pleasant, and it doesn’t grow aesthetically and rather quickly.

If you are not yet ripe for electro or photoepilation, then wax or sugaring are perfect. And after the procedure, the hairs on the arms grow more slowly, and as, for example, on the legs, depilation is not necessary every month.

There is one drawback to wax and shugaring, because of which they are much inferior to the laser - the risk of ingrown hairs. I talked about them in detail here.
