A beautiful golden tan without the sun and ultraviolet radiation of a solarium is possible. I have been using self-tanning for a long time, from time to time browning my skin. I don’t sunbathe in the sun for a number of reasons, unfortunately the sun is not a friend for everyone.
Modern self-tanning does not require dancing with a tambourine, some complex application technique, but at the same time, there are several important nuances that we will talk about today.
Which self-tanner to choose
There are different formats and companies. In my experience, I don't even look towards the budget ones, I got burned twice. I read dozens of rave reviews, ran after the coveted bottle, anticipating a beautiful golden tan. Woke up spotty. Yellow. Evil.
And all self-tanners have a specific smell, in those state employees that I tried, it was very pronounced. Brrrr.
Hopefully you are more fortunate than me. Share your experience in the comments.
There are self-tanners in the form of spray, drops, cream, lotion. For myself, I stopped at drops, since you can regulate the degree of tanning yourself. There is no one-size-fits-all tanning product that works for everyone. Clarins, St. Moriz (especially lotion for gradual tanning), Shiseido, from the budget - Floresan (most often it is milk), Dove.
How to apply self tanner evenly
Each of the points that I will tell you about is very important. If you don't have a friendship with self-tanning, see if you did everything right? Sometimes bad results and stains are due to application error, not bad product.
The skin must be prepared!
Firstly, a scrub or a hard washcloth will do the trick. The skin needs to be well exfoliated, this will affect both the quality of the result and how the self-tanning will peel off. Take a loofah or your favorite scrub and go!
Secondly, if the skin is very dry, pre-moisturizing BEFORE applying it helps. Even if you think self-tanning is moisturizing. Even if you mix the sun drops with a moisturizer. This life hack helped me get rid of stains on my legs. I apply something moisturizing in a thin layer, after 20 minutes of self-tanning.
Elbows and knees, where the skin is coarser, especially need moisturizing. They are of special attention when applied - self-tanning must be applied to them less! The layer must be thinner, otherwise you can get a mud effect.
Thirdly, do not forget to wash hands after application. If your product is very intense, wash your hands after applying to each area, do not be lazy. Pay attention to the skin between your toes! You can use a special glove, they say that it is easier to apply the product with it. I have not tried it, but I should have bought it.
If you shave areas where you apply self-tanning, do it BEFORE. Not necessarily immediately before, you can shave in the morning, apply in the evening or vice versa. You can do it right away if you don't have any irritation from the cream. Focus on features of your skin.
Apply the product thoroughly, do not take a very large amount at once, try to dose. Do not rush, smear the cream well and massage the areas, there should be no excess anywhere.
Do not rush to get dressed, let the product soak well, this is important. Usually 7-10 minutes is enough for me.
Do not ignore the ears, come close to the hairline, I comb my hair back, put on a headband and apply cream as close to the hair as possible. Thoroughly apply the cream between the toes, somehow I hurried and got a patchy result.
All comes with experience. If I immediately knew about all these nuances, I would have gotten the coveted beautiful tan faster. You know now, so go for it! Like, if you were interested, subscribe) Add to my Instagramso as not to get lost.
