Long hair is not allowed after 40. And other stereotypes imposed on us

Stereotypes... how much in this sound for a woman's heart has merged! How much it echoed! May the admirers of Russian poetry and, in particular, Alexander Sergeevich forgive me. But stereotypes really play out for many defining role. I am against them, but for an individual approach. I will not tire of repeating that everything in the world is very individual, we are all so different that it is not always possible to give out something universal.

Let's take a look at common clichés today and indicate how close they are to reality. I will also be interested in your opinion, whether you agree with me or think otherwise. The older the woman, the shorter the haircut.

One of the favorite stereotypes is that long hair after a certain age is bad. Is it so? In my opinion, this advice is taken too literally.

Long hair to the waist or below the shoulder blades on women after 50 really rarely look. There are exceptions, of course, but a lot still depends on the type of face, hair grooming, and overall image. However, this does not mean that now you need to urgently cut a super-short pixie. You don't have to live in extremes. You can stop at the golden mean, do not discount the hair just above the shoulders or square.

Some women go for ultra-short haircuts, others will be better with medium length. Here it is already necessary to focus on the shape of the face, the density and structure of the hair, and not on the numbers in the passport.

Black ages

This is really a rather moody color that may not suit everyone. With age, the contrast of the face decreases, softer colors in clothes are required, plus black serves as a kind of wrinkle developer. However, there are various tricks to help neutralize this cunning.

Firstly, this only applies to things on the face. You can safely wear black trousers or a skirt at any age and it will not affect the fact that you will look older. Any color you like but doesn't go can be worn at the bottom. The whole point of our successful colors is that they should be located near the face and make it look fresh. Pants won't make your face look younger or older in any way.

Secondly, you can add white to black, for example, and this will refresh the image. With a black jacket, you can wear a white T-shirt that will blend in with your face. Or you can tie a colored scarf around your neck so that the face is no longer black. Just choose a colored scarf skillfully so that he himself does not add too much.

40 years is a special figure

There are mountains of advice for women after 40, for some reason they are trying to impose on us that having crossed this line, we must radically change something. Refuse short skirts, otherwise it is simply indecent. Nonsense! Change your wardrobe towards classics and calm things. Not true! I read somewhere that ripped jeans after 40 look ridiculous and emphasize the age of a woman. In fact, it's a wonderful age to wear what you like. You just have to feel good about the style.

Remember the phrase "Life is just beginning at 40" from the movie "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears"? Take it as a basis and be happy if you're 40 and worried about your age.
