I wandered lazily around Avito in search of the vague hope of attaching my dusty exercise bike, which served as a hanger, to someone. Suddenly I saw an ad that attracted my distracted attention. In my area, they gave away a Yorkshire Terrier. Let not a puppy, but thoroughbred and free. Although I would not have taken a Yorkie (like a Toy Terrier or a Chihuahua), even if I had been paid for it, my journalistic instinct to dig out and show everything that was hidden took over.
Yorkshire Terrier in good hands
The announcement stated that a young Yorkshire Terrier of three years old and without health problems is given into good hands. I am used to giving up Dobermans and Rottweilers, Alabai and Amstaffs, but I have never seen them give up a young and healthy sofa-pocket Yorkie. I decided to call the ad and find out why the owners are looking for a new home for their pet.
The woman answered the call, it was clear from her voice that she was aged. She regretfully said that there was already a queue for an ad posted just a couple of hours ago, and, alas, I was late. However, she turned out to be very friendly and decided to post everything before I had time to ask anything.
It turned out that the dog was being given... because of the move. Because of the move, they give away a tiny, smart, healthy Yorkie. It didn’t fit in my head.
"How so... - I asked cautiously - After all, the dog is very small... Moreover, Yorkies are so attached to their owners and cannot even stand loneliness. "
“It is,” the woman complained. Torik cannot stand loneliness at all. As soon as one is in the room, it starts barking loudly! "
Old age puppy
For a long time, the family lived in their home in the private sector. She, her son with his wife and their little son. Torik (diminutive for Thor) lived with them all this time, but now the son and his family are moving to a rented apartment closer to Moscow, where he found work. They do not want and cannot leave the dog to their grandmother, and she is already old, in order to fully care for the active little boy.
They cannot take it with them. Firstly, the owners of the apartment are against pets (especially since Torik is a situational bite), and secondly, the dog will be constantly alone, which means barking and howling with stress of both the pet and the neighbors.
In addition, there was a problem-free walk in the private house, when Torik simply ran out to a closed area. In an apartment building, it won't work. Torik is not accustomed to the tray and the diaper, and alone will write on someone else's laminate, bark at other people's neighbors and gnaw on the legs of other people's chairs.
Big house for a small dog
Before me called a girl who lives with a young man also in a private house. Their former owners appointed Torik as the future owners. A private house for a Yorkie was the very bonus that determined his place of residence.
Having listened to the woman to the end, I politely bowed, wishing all the best to her family and furry Torik - each in his new place. To myself, of course, I thought: poor Yorik-Torik.
I am indifferent to decorative dogs, but the story of this unfamiliar Yorkie touched me. The former mistress very emotionally told how kind he is, how he loves children and even in the game he never bites painfully, how he loves to swim and never there is no problem with washing his paws or putting on overalls, as he likes to sleep in the same bed with her little grandson, as he understands human speech ...
The next day, the ad was removed. I really hope that Yorik-Torik will settle down in his new spacious house, and that he will be loved and will not be offended. And he will not be very bored and bark loudly.
