Better for shoes: about money for shoes (and books) in the life of an economy class woman

A notification about a discount in an online bookstore has come to the mail on the eve of the new autumn season. It turns out that last year I spent almost 20 thousand rubles on books...

If my mother found out about this (and I will never tell her), she would say: “You'd better spend them on new shoes!”. I only have three pairs of shoes and I don't even feel like I need more. And we will never understand each other, just as the majority of modern girls who have not yet turned fifty will not understand me.

For all my love for the popular TV series about four women 30+ in big and stylish New York, Carrie Bradshaw, who spent $ 40,000 on shoes, left without a stash, always seemed to me not stylish and daring, but stupid, pathetic and infantile.

Shoe joy

When they start to tell me how shoes affect a woman's life, how heels from Louboutin can change you, God bless him, I feel that when I was created, they forgot to register a center in my brain that is activated at the sight of graceful heels or comfortable, but still chic shoes.

We had a very young girl in the editorial office who bought herself new shoes every month. At the same time, she said that she realized that, in principle, she did not need them, that she did not wear them, that the closet was full. But she used to please herself like that. For her, buying shoes is like buying ice cream at a bus stop while waiting for a minibus. Like buying toffee spontaneously at the checkout. You can please me very simply and inexpensively.

Cups, mugs and papers

Firstly, I really love cups and mugs - something from which you can consume tea, coffee and other non-alcoholic pleasures. The kitchen cabinet is full of them, but it will still be replenished - I know that for sure. Because when ashes, spleen and emptiness cover my head, I buy myself a new mug, from which I drink aromatic black and green tea, cappuccino, coffee, mate and everything that tea and coffee can offer me shops.

Secondly, I really love stationery. It may sound strange, but when I once came across a description of the same passion in a girl's diary, I realized that I was normal. And there is a simple explanation for that.

I write with a simple pencil, but they quickly grind off, they have to be bought again. I have a variety of paper and writing jobs that require notebooks and notebooks to write down plans for the week, translate words from a dictionary, outline article plans, lists, trend brands, and other tinsel. Working with all this still requires bright stickers, colored blocks.

I always go to supermarkets with a notebook and pen, because I make a list first and cross out what is in the basket. So all this office surrounds me all my life, and if suddenly it disappears from my life, then I will be disoriented.

And when I find myself in the appropriate department, I instantly turn on the "clerical rat": this notebook is needed for this, that block - for that, it is convenient to write this here and so on. Cheap, angry and joyful. And books, of course. Brand new and crispy.

Economy class woman

But I understand perfectly well that men also love women who love shoes. Because a woman who loves cups and pencils is such a light version of a normal woman who asks for fur coats and diamonds, thereby stimulating and keeping her toned. One man said to me: “Oh, it's so great with you, relaxed. You are a straight woman of economy class! " Doubtful compliment, but funny.

The more I go shopping with someone, and that someone squeaks "Oo-oo-oh, what kind-y-y-y-y-shoes!", I begin to feel that I am missing some kind of female chromosome. Because shoes do not change my life at all, no matter what Evelina Khromtchenko says, God grant her health.

Last week I found out that the dog loves shoes much more than me. She rejected the sneakers, but managed to chew on rubber slippers and my favorite ballet flats. I'm not upset at all and I'm not even going to buy anything yet.

The new season is not at all a shoe. But I decided to stop buying paper books and finally subscribed to electronic ones. Cheaper and more practical. But my mother would still say: "Better on the shoes!"
