Audrey Hepburn was and remains a symbol of ideal beauty and femininity thanks to her boundless kindness and tenderness. She chose a restrained minimalist style of clothing, was the face of the French house Givenchy and the muse of the designer. What about perfumery?

Introducing 6 scents that Audrey Hepburn loved. 5 of them are the products of the oldest French perfume houses!

1. Spring Flower (Creed)

Spring Flower is a fruity-floral spring scent that some people like, others annoy with its simplicity. This flirty pink bottle features an apple, peach, melon composition, flavored with a good dose of jasmine and musk.

Fun fact: Creed created Spring Flower especially for Audrey in the mid-80s, but did not go on sale until 1996, three years after she passed away.

2. L'Interdit (Givenchy)

This is another fragrance that was created especially for Hepburn, who was the muse of Hubert Givenchy, who wore his evening dresses in the movies and at social events. His story is also quite interesting. Givenchy created this perfume for Audrey in 1957 and asked if she wanted it to go on sale. The actress jokingly said: Je vous l’interdit! ("I forbid you to do this!"). In the end, the fragrance was still seen on the shelves, and the name L'Interdit ("Prohibition") remained with it.

Its powdery aldehyde composition immediately won the hearts of lovers of universal and unobtrusive fragrances. Today, despite the fact that it was re-released for the anniversary in 2018, there are many fans of the vintage version of L'Interdit.

3. Chamade Perfume (Guerlain)

This scent of one of the oldest French perfume houses was not created for Audrey at all. In 1968, the film "Confusion" (Chamade) with Catherine Deneuve, based on the novel by Françoise Sagan, was released. And the next year, a perfume with the same name appeared in the Guerlain perfume line.

It is a complex fragrance with a floral-balsamic composition, where notes of aldehydes, rose, galbanum, hyacinth and other colors intertwine with viscous accords of amber, benzoin, Peruvian and Tolu balm.

4. Joy (Jean Patou)

The timeless classic of French perfumery, which Jacqueline Kennedy and other stars adored at one time. Joy was released in 1930 and over the past 90 years it has taken on many incarnations in different bottles. The very vintage Joy is a scent of jasmine, rose and tuberose, which is accompanied by ylang-ylang, musk and sandalwood.

5. Ivoire de Balmain (Pierre Balmain)

The original Ivoire de Balmain was created in 1979, and this is a fragrance that will not leave anyone indifferent. Why, there are more than three dozen notes in it! It opens with the crystal freshness of aldehydes, replaced by a pinch of oakmoss, then circles in a floral waltz of chamomile, galbanum, calendula, carnation, daffodil, rose, lily of the valley, labdanum, violets, which saturate the spicy oriental accords and set off the acidity of the freshness of lemon and bergamot.

6. Rochas Femme (Rochas)

The original Rochas Femme, which was released in 1944, differs from the previous fresh floral fragrances with a completely different character. It is a warm and spicy perfume, enveloping and warming with delicious notes of plum, peach and apricot, as well as thick and elegant accords of leather, cinnamon and amber. The trail contains flowers (rose, jasmine, carnation), soft powdery (vanilla, musk, iris) and citrus (lemon, bergamot) notes.
