Calamine is a lotion used to lubricate sunburn, insect bites and other skin irritations. This is one of the most appropriate remedies for treating such problems. Calamine is not absorbed or poisoned by the child, so pediatricians wear this lotion like a flag.

At some point, I was surprised to find that Calamine is positioned as some kind of natural zinc-based mineral that has a healing effect. And this is strange, because it seemed to me that this lotion was implicated in halimic chemistry. It's useful, but it's a simple chemistry like zinc ointment.

Looking for something in the history of Kalamin, I dug up American article already in 1945 about Kalamin. There they write in English and white that their Calamine is an outdated tool (already outdated in 1945), which has long been replaced with simple zinc oxide (like our native zinc ointment).

And then the Americans write that classic calamine is just rust mixed with zinc oxide. So much for a healing mineral ...

Maybe I don’t know something about Calamin? Maybe it has a cunning composition? Something tells me that this Kalamine is slightly speculated ...
