Many have heard that all sorts of plant foods like soy can somehow affect hormones. In fact, most of these chemicals are obtained from industrial production.

All this filth gets into the air, water and soil. Chemicals literally surround us. Some can act on a person even during intrauterine development. Then he gets obesity, diabetes and all that.

When a few decades ago they began to notice the effects of chemicals on animals, they did not even think about a person. And then they found about a thousand compounds that stimulate or suppress various hormones in our body.

Chemicals that affect hormones

There are several groups.

Phytoestrogens

They are found in soybeans, grains, and flaxseed.

Industrial chemistry

These are all sorts of pesticides, refractory impregnations, combustion products of something.

Household chemicals

This includes food packaging, cosmetics, lavender oil and tea tree oil.

Medicines and various medical products

There is a lot of chemistry - from gloves to hormonal pills specifically.

How does it work

These chemicals can stimulate or suppress the production of our own hormones. They can also disrupt the transport of hormones from our endocrine glands to various organs and tissues.

Many similar substances are fat soluble and can accumulate in our adipose tissue. From there they float into the blood on occasion.

Sometimes these chemicals mix and enhance each other's effects.

This nasty thing is often found in sunscreen products. Therefore, it is better to use mineral-based products like zinc and titanium oxides. Conversely, the most popular component of Sanskrin, oxybenzone, is not recommended. It acts on the mammary glands and the brain.

Children

Children get premature puberty from chemicals. It happens that female hormones from the cream can lead to the development of gynecomastia in boys. Lavender oil and tea tree oil act in the same way for boys.

Women

The most dangerous are chemicals that act on a woman while still in the womb or immediately after birth. Bisphenol A (BPA) is often mentioned here. It is considered a poison for the ovaries and the female reproductive system in general.

Another very popular nasty thing is polychlorinated biphenyls. They are used in industry. Now these chemicals have been banned, but we are still assaulting them in the environment. They cause various problems in the female sphere.

Similar chemicals are believed to cause polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis.

Men

Men are badly affected by phthalates, DDT, BPA and similar muck. From them the quality of sperm decreases, tumors grow and all that.

Hormone-related cancers

There are several options.

Testicular cancer

It is believed that prenatal exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls, DDT derivatives and benzene may be the cause.

Mammary cancer

If a woman is exposed to estrogens during pregnancy, then her daughter is at increased risk of cancer.

Prostate cancer

It occurs in men who have been exposed to pesticides for a long time.

There is evidence that if a woman took hormonal contraceptives for some time during pregnancy, then her son has a higher risk of developing prostate cancer in the future.

Other areas

In addition to the reproductive sphere, chemicals can lead to the development of obesity and diabetes. Sometimes they are even referred to as chemical anogenes. That is, substances that contribute to obesity.

It may well be that with sclerocystic ovary syndrome, obesity and problems in the reproductive sphere are combined in this way.

Perchlorate, which often accumulates in water and leafy vegetables, can interfere with the delivery of iodine to the thyroid.

Prevention

In order not to poison BPA, it is advisable to use less plastic dishes and more glass. This is especially important for young children and pregnant women.

To eat less phthalates, you need to replace bottled water with water filters. It's also important to avoid perfumed body care products.

Choose sunscreens with titanium and zinc oxides, but not oxybenzone (benzophenone or BP-3).

Private wells need to be checked regularly and it is important for pregnant women to avoid contact with water containing perchlorate.

To reduce exposure to dioxin, replace bleach-bleached materials such as paper towels, diapers and napkins with textiles.

The amount of pesticides in vegetables can be significantly reduced by peeling apples or soaking them in a soda solution for 15 minutes.

For kids, it's best not to buy a lavender or tea tree oil product.

Seafood from the coast of Europe is also better not to use once again.
