Lies about fascia and fluid accumulation

click fraud protection

Hello! I have been a doctor for 21 years. My name is Georgy Olegovich Sapego. In this article, I will explain how you are fooled by stories about fluid between muscles.

Fasciae are elastic membranes that are found in different parts of our body. Most often, you will be tricked about the fasciae around the muscles.

Individual muscles or even muscle groups are packed in a fascial sheath. This keeps the muscles together and does not spread apart.

The fascia is like a rubber balloon. It stretches and contracts easily and allows the muscle to move along its neighbors.

And this is where the lie begins. You will be convinced that a liquid stagnates between the fascia, which can only be removed by massage. They begin to compose that, between the two muscles covered with fascia, there is a mucous layer with a fluid that helps the muscles slide against each other.

Have you presented? Sounds nice. But this is a lie. People just don't know human anatomy. There is no liquid. There is connective tissue that looks like rubber. Moreover, the fascia is so dense that the fluid is more likely to accumulate in the muscles, and not in the fascia itself. The fascia is a barrier, but not a snot.

It's all about the joints

This deception came from somewhere in the area of the joints. We all know that there is fluid inside the joint. It allows the articular surfaces to slide. Now imagine that the joint is sore, and too much fluid has accumulated there. This fluid cannot be squeezed out of the joint anywhere. It will be very painful, and the liquid will only become more.

There is also fluid in the tendon sheaths on the hands, feet and around some joints. These places rub against the bone and the tendons need lubrication.

Many people painted the fence with a brush and remember how their hand can hurt after repeated movements. From constant friction, even the tendon sheath with fluid can become inflamed, and there will be a lot of fluid. This is a terribly painful place. You can't touch it.

Cheating with pockets

Let's go further. The next trick is the fascial pockets around the muscles in which fluid can accumulate. There are actually no pockets around the muscles. There are pockets in the belly.

We have already discussed the liquid in the stomach. There are also cases for internal organs there. And now they are really smeared with liquid. You can read this story at the link below.

When something is seriously ill in the abdomen, then a small excess of fluid will initially accumulate in the pockets. If the gallbladder festers, then the fluid can be seen on an ultrasound scan next to the liver, and if an ectopic pregnancy has burst, then the fluid will be next to the uterus. You can't get there either. You can probably die from this.

Shriveled fascia

This is another bike. Like on the fascia folds appear, like on the forehead of a grandmother. And after that, the fascia won't work normally.

This is a lie. The fascia is very elastic. It looks like rubber. Try pinching the eraser and leaving a crease from your fingers. Or try leaving a crease in the balloon.

And that's not the fun part. Some people think that the fascia is a film like a plastic bag. They probably never butchered meat.

Have you tried removing the film from the meat? Does she twitch like a stocking? No! This film has to be literally ripped off with meat. Because the fascia grows inside the muscle with many bridges. It looks like sod with grass roots. These roots can only be pulled out of the muscle with a shovel.

Let's do it again

Fluid collects inside joints, in tendon sheaths, and around internal organs. It hurts every time, purulent and bloody. There is no place for massage.

If you think that you have fluid accumulation somewhere, then be sure to see a doctor.

An example about a cat and a mouse

This is an example for fascial and visceral massage therapists. Easier. Remember, please, the American cartoon about a cat and a mouse. The best reward for the characters was the steak. It is a piece of meat with white veins inside. The white streaks are fasciae. Have you presented? Now think that if the fascia were separated from each other by liquid, then the pieces of meat between these white veins would slip onto the plate. And instead of a whole piece of meat, there would be a pile of separate small pieces. Available?
