The people around them do not always understand them: how, you are a girl / physicist / electrician, why don't you know how? I also decided to talk about the painful one.
I am a stylist and I like to mix prints and shades, choose clothes for different types of figures. And I can easily navigate fashion trends and can combine incongruous - within the style, of course.
At the same time, I do not know how to do makeup, my maximum is mascara and red lipstick. In hairstyles, my skills are also close to zero. I don't see a problem in this: my name is to help change the wardrobe, and not to draw arrows.
But many clients think differently. When ordering the services of a stylist, they expect a transformation, as in "Fashionable Sentence", and then they are disappointed. It looks like the clothes are new, but it looks like nothing has changed. Of course, without hair and makeup, the image will be incomplete. But the stylist only helps to change the style of clothing and choose what suits you. Of course, he can also be a hairdresser and makeup artist. Can. But I don't have to.
Still, clients often ask for hairstyles and makeup, offer extra money. The thoughts came to me that I could earn more, since there is such a demand for it. I even looked at the prices for courses for hairdressers and makeup artists.
Fortunately, common sense prevailed. To do well styling and makeup, courses are not enough. It takes a lot of practice: on girlfriends, grandmothers-neighbors, the first free clients. We need a lot of investments in cosmetics, brushes, tools.
And you also need to take the time somewhere. I heard somewhere that only after 10,000 hours of practice you can consider that you have learned something. And there are only 24 hours in a day - when will I work and improve as a stylist?
No, I'd rather devote myself to the selection of clothes and over time I will be able to charge more for my services. Or maybe someday I'll call a makeup artist and a hairdresser to work together. If they want a total transformation, we will organize it.
I found my masters. They do my makeup and styling for photo shoots, give me useful advice. I advise everyone to find their own master, whom you can trust and not worry about the result.
