Mihrimah was born into the Sultan's family, and it would seem that the girl is destined for a bright future. The lady was famous for her beauty, was well educated, possessed a brilliant mind and cunning.
Mihrimah had a great influence in the harem, remember at least how she “put in place” her aunts. But Mihrimah could not resist her mother.
The young sultana always dreamed of great and pure love, like her parents had. But Khyurrem Sultan did not give her daughter the right to choose, she herself found a groom for her daughter, and married her off to Rustem Pasha.
Mihrimah could not resist mother and obediently obeyed her will.
In the series, we were shown that Mihrimah was never able to love her husband, although Rustem Pasha loved his mistress very much.
Years later, Mihrimah meets the Spanish doctor Pedro, who arrived at the palace to examine the lady. The body of the lady was covered with red spots, and state doctors could not cope with this misfortune.
Rustem Pasha is very jealous of his wife for the young doctor and drives him out of the palace, accusing him of mediocrity.
But Pedro's treatment helped Mihrimah and she, secretly from her husband, continues to meet with the doctor.
Seeing the sympathy between the young for the falcon, in order to annoy the pasha, with the command of the Sultan, he gives a prisoner Mihrimah, and she lodges him in her palace.
Rustem Pasha is offended by this decision of his wife and wants to kill the doctor. Mihrimah, in order to save the life of his beloved, gives him freedom.
According to the laws of the Ottomans, Rustem cannot take the life of a free person, but he also cannot continue to remain in the palace.
Rustem drives Pedro away and orders him to leave the capital.
Unbeknownst to her husband, Mihrimah again meets with Pedro, and he persuades the mistress to run with him to his homeland.
It is painful for Mihrimakh to part with her beloved, but honor and future dynasties are above all for her. The sultana gives the doctor a lock of her hair and asks to forget it.
Rustem Pasha found out that his wife was meeting with Pedro at the port and decided that she was going to flee the capital. Pasha heads to the port to stop the fugitives. But, he saw that his wife was not going to run away, but with a drooping look returns to the palace.
Pedro is released and he will forever sail away on his ship from Istanbul and the life of Mihrimah.
The story of Mihrimah with Pedro hurt Pasha very much, and he, with tears in his eyes, says that the mistress killed his love. Rustem lost interest in his wife and soon threw himself into the arms of Grazia Mendes.
And even the pregnancy of his wife could not return his former feelings. Rustem Pasha forgot about his mistress and henceforth their marriage is only on paper.
But, it is worth noting that Pedro is another fictional character of the creators of the "Magnificent Century" series.
