There were many delicacies during the Soviet era, the taste of which is still remembered with admiration, and there was also absolutely miserable food, the memories of which are really terrible.

Here they are terrible miracle dishes of the Soviet era

Porridge

Porridge for a Soviet person, perhaps, was an irreplaceable breakfast. Anything was consumed - millet, semolina, rice, buckwheat, etc. The problem is that it was cooked in public catering for a very long time, and as a result it became sticky, lanky, it was very disgusting to eat that. And even then, it was known about the benefits of breakfast, so the portions of cereals were very large, which did more harm.

Fried sausage with pasta

In Soviet families, this dish was prepared at least once a week. The food is unhealthy, but fast and satisfying. A large amount of pasta was boiled, water was drained from them. A little sausage was fried in a frying pan, most often it was with bacon, and then pasta was poured out to the sausage. A few minutes of languor, and the dish could be served at the table. It was also available in canteens.

Hard first and second

In the USSR, the first and second were most often served, while both dishes were too satisfying. Everything in meat broth, with lots of vegetables. And for the second, for example, a whole plate of potatoes, a sausage or a cheap cutlet to it. So they could feed in factories, and in order to have enough strength until the end of the shift, they had to eat it all, which often led to obesity.

Sausages

Now sausages are also not recommended, but they are really tasty. In Soviet times, they looked like a rag. But cheap, so they were bought up quickly. Sausages were made from meat scraps and veins, carefully processed to a puree state. And the cutlets were also made from about the same "meat".

Dumplings soup

A very good invention of Soviet women. The dish is elementary and quick. Dumplings were thrown into the boiling water, salt, pepper, lavrushka, whatever was added to the water, to add taste and aroma to the broth. So the dish is ready. The only disgusting thing is that the dumplings themselves were prepared from incomprehensible meat, which looked like a sticky lump, and the dough was oak, and even after 15 minutes of cooking, it remained tough. But this option was very suitable for women who, having defended their shift at the factory, needed to somehow feed their household members.

Pilaf from stew

The meat was not normal, well, or it was expensive, and the stew could be found in any store, and very cheaply. The method of cooking pilaf in the Soviet style is elementary. Rice was boiled until cooked, fried carrots were added to it if desired, as well as a can of stewed meat. The result was rice porridge, which was called pilaf, a satisfying, aromatic, but cooled dish - complete disgust with hardening fat on the lips.

Basement salads

In the USSR, it was difficult to get normal vegetables for a salad, so everything that came to hand was chosen for the festive tables in the basement - pickles, potatoes, carrots, beets. And, as you know, a woman can make a salad from anything. The vinaigrette was popular, only it was prepared from what was.

Sugar loaf

Probably many people remember this dessert. Of course, there were no so many sweets at an affordable price in stores as now, in Soviet times. Here's what they did: butter was spread on a piece of white or brown bread, and sugar was poured on top. It turned out such a budget Soviet cake.
