Everybody loves fish in our family. Therefore, at least once a week I try to cook fish dishes - pies, soups, fry, steam, bake in the oven. I have a separate love for mackerel. And today I want to share with you a recipe for making golden mackerel in onion skins!

My passion for fish dishes started with mackerel. According to my parents, I didn’t want to eat fish as a child. Then my mother began to sort out all her types, because it is useful. So, when on the next "fish day" I reluctantly dragged my legs at the dinner table, my mother looked at me with hope. At the same time, two pieces of fried mackerel reigned on a plate with mashed potatoes on a plate. I loved and love my parents, I didn't want to upset, so I decided to dig deeper for the appearance that, they say, well, I ate, just not hungry. And I myself did not notice how I ate both pieces, and, to my surprise, asked for more!

It was love at first sight! For some reason, mackerel tasted more like meat to me. Many years have passed since then, I eat all the fish, and I love it, but mackerel is a priority! So I try not to buy ready-made delicacies, well, occasionally I take lightly salted red fish. Of course, you can buy fried in big stores now, but I really like to cook! Therefore, I have many recipes for cooking fish, and today I want to share the recipe for mackerel in onion skins. You don't need to fry or bake anything, everything is much simpler.

Mackerel prepared in this way turns out to be incredibly tasty, appetizing, and how beautiful it is with a golden tint! It looks like it's smoked. The perfect culinary masterpiece for lunch, dinner and even a festive feast! And how much use! It improves the functioning of the brain, cardiovascular system, saturates the body with vitamins of group B, D, P, A, zinc, copper, fluorine, iodine, Omega-3, etc.

Golden Mackerel Recipe

It will take

  • peeled mackerel - 3 carcasses;
  • water - 1 l;
  • salt - 5 tbsp. l. without a slide;
  • sugar - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • black tea - 3 tbsp. l .;
  • onion - 1 large;
  • coriander - 10 seeds;
  • cloves - 2 pcs.;
  • black pepper - 2 peas;
  • onion husks - 1 handful.

How to cook

So, the fish needs to be cleaned and put to the side. At this time, you need to do the marinade. Pour a liter of water into a saucepan.

Add sugar, salt, and stir until they are completely dissolved.

Next, throw in the onion, cut into half rings, coriander, cloves, pepper.

Then add tea to all products. Only you need to take the usual black, without additives and various flavors.

It remains to add the husk, and you can put the marinade on the fire.

After the liquid boils, turn off the fire and leave the marinade until it cools completely. After that, strain it, and squeeze the onion peel.

The fish must be placed in another dish, preferably according to its shape. After that, pour in the marinade, which should cover the product completely. Now the fish needs to be refrigerated for two days.

That's all! Appetizing and insanely tasty mackerel in onion skins is ready! She became so beautiful - golden! Take it out of the marinade, wipe off excess liquid, cut into slices, pour with oil, and you can serve!
