In most cases, we have small, cozy gardens. Many plants grow very close to each other.

But you need to know the compatibility of cultures. This will help to increase the yield on our 6 acres, which in turn is of great importance in the current realities.

Before planting crops, you need to select very well neighbors for them. Site planning is above all. You need to get only benefit from neighbors, not harm. But some groups of plants do not at all want to be friends with each other, in every possible way harming and suppressing the growth of the roommate.

Very similar to human behavior, isn't it? and the problem is solved in almost the same ways. Dill grows in everyone. Sometimes it needs to be planted on purpose, and sometimes it grows itself, wherever it wants, and in incredible quantities. Most often, we leave this spice, and what, let it grow, will be useful on the farm. But sometimes it is still better to clean it. Dill just starts to interfere with other plants growing and developing. Yes, it sounds very strange how this cute weed can harm. Let's look at the problem.

He learned to free himself a place under the sun in a very specific way: by releasing special substances into the soil through his roots. Thus, nearby growing plants may die. But, by the way, not all. some of them are indifferent to what dill is up to. They do not perceive the substances they release or use them for the good.

Overcrowded beds, it does not matter if you know which plantings it harms, and which it helps.

As a rule, dill grows in all kinds of mixed plantings in the area of the entire garden. He doesn't care about the shade there most of the day or the sun. He learned to survive in extreme situations with limited moisture supply. That is, it is, of course, important for the quality of the crop, but not for its survival. Isn't it a weed? But, nevertheless, a favorite weed that we cherish and cherish.

Dill is an incredibly healthy and aromatic plant that gets along well with crops such as:

  • potatoes are a wonderful combination, both in the garden and on the plate. At the same time, they perfectly complement each other in the ground, helping to grow and develop correctly. Among other things, such a symbiosis perfectly saves space and energy when leaving;
  • white cabbage - it is with her that he feels comfortable in the morning. Actually, cabbage does not care at all whether there is such a restless neighbor in its garden;
  • turnip is a wonderful and useful native Slavic plant. They have made friends with dill and coexist perfectly;
  • peas - peas can slow down the growth of dill due to the characteristics of their growth. The antennae of the plant cling to everything and twine tightly. Such a neighborhood may not be to the taste of dill;
  • beets are a very good planting choice. They are comfortable with each other;
  • onions - with onions a similar situation. You will like the harvest of both;
  • cucumbers - with cucumbers, like with peas. They can crush the dill and it will grow small, short, weak;
  • salad - and looks beautiful and complete understanding;
  • raspberries - treat dill well, as he does to her. But in the constant shade of a dense bush, dill can wither away.

So, if necessary, you can and do not even need to invent something to combine dill with other plants. squeeze with any from the list and enjoy the space saved without compromising your harvest.

Dill is categorically incompatible with:

  • carrots;
  • tomatoes;
  • cilantro;
  • celery and parsnips.

It is these crops that are susceptible to substances secreted by dill.

But sometimes it's so pitiful to pull out and throw out the dill from these beds that I go for a trick: I just wait a week until it grows up a little and collect it. it can be sliced and placed in the freezer. You will have young fresh dill at your fingertips any time.
