There are two lakes in the Israeli lands, which can be called the complete opposite of each other.
The first is located in the north near the settlement of Ginosar and is called Lake Tiberias (the locals call it "Yam Kinneret"). We are closer to another biblical name - the Sea of Galilee. The reservoir is located in a picturesque place: the land around is completely covered with a green carpet, birds of paradise are singing. People like to settle near this lake, because the water in it is clean and refreshing, it is rich in fish.
Another lake is located in the south of Israel and is called Dead (although it is called the sea, but this lake). The desert and silence reign around him, the singing of birds is not heard. The reservoir is very salty, so there is no life there. These lakes are very popular with tourists. But any traveler who has visited both places will definitely say that they are diametrically opposed.
Why is this happening? Both reservoirs are fed by the waters of the Jordan River. It flows from the north and flows into the Kinneret, and then continues on its way south to the Dead Sea. And although the streams of the Jordan flow into the Kinneret, the lake does not leave them with itself. It brings them back to the river. But the Dead Sea only does what it “feeds” on the river and does not give anything away - it is drainless. This example with lakes is very instructive. The one who takes and gives to others thrives, and the one who only takes and gives nothing in return perishes.
