It is believed that "Georgians" are a kind of dumplings, but here it is worth noting that the dough and everything else is prepared a little differently, which means that you shouldn't call them that. Also, this dish has nothing to do with Georgian cuisine, but there is no definitive answer why they are so called. There was even a case that claims were made about this.
If we turn to the history of the dumplings themselves, then they came to us from the Urals, as Pokhlebkin believed the stories. But the word itself comes from the Perm languages, which means that even from a purely technical point of view it is impossible to call “Georgians” any kind of dumplings.
The advantage of the dish is that you can cook as many as you like, spending the same amount of time on it. What you haven't eaten can be warmed up later, while they will not lose their taste and appearance, and "Georgians" can also be eaten cold.
Despite the fact that it can seem complicated, it is very simple and does not take much time, and there are only three main ingredients. Especially, it will appeal to those who do not particularly like to fool around with a side dish or are tired of the usual dinner.
What you need:
1. Minced meat.
2. Dumplings dough.
3. Carrots, onions.
4. Tomato paste.
5. Salt and spices to taste.
Chop the onion, you can do this with a knife "the old fashioned way" or on a blender. Part of it should be added to the minced meat, the more, the juicier the final dish will be.
Fry the grated carrots with the leftover onions in vegetable oil. We remove part, and add tomato paste to the rest. Simmer until the sauce is obtained.
Next, roll out the dough and put the minced meat on it, as well as the frying that we put off. We roll everything into a roll, and the mode is for 2 cm thick circles.
We roll them in flour and a little ivy with our hand and lightly fry them in a pan.
Then we put them in the brazier in layers, between which we will use our sauce.
After that, add boiling water to cover the "Georgians" and cook for no more than 15 minutes.
Sprinkle the finished dish with herbs. You can serve it with sour cream - it's very tasty! Enjoy your meal.
