Nastya is a real favorite of the office. She always has something to profit from: homemade cutlets, cookies, sandwiches with which she feeds her colleagues. Her husband works in the same building, but on a different floor, and she brings him home meals every day. We always joked that no one is against having such a wife (regardless of our gender and marital status). But most of all, Pasha envies her husband, who once had almost the same Nastya, only Sveta.
Family idyll
Pavel and Svetlana have been married for about 7 years. After leaving the official decree, Sveta did not return to her previous job, finding one that was closer to home and more free in time. Pasha, on the contrary, being suggestible and soft by nature, passionately dreamed of building a career and winning the respect of others. He read vocational literature, went to seminars, attended trainings - both professional and popular today, trainings for personal growth.
Family reform
At one of the trainings, the gurus of enlightenment taught men to be strong and domineering in all areas of life. If there is a wife, she must be kept in tight control and completely controlled. We need to finish with incomprehensible expenses on trifles: the family budget must be maintained, without missing a single detail, writing in a special program for all expenses, at the end of the month summing up, discussing each purchase, up to a jar of yogurt for 20 rubles.
From now on, the wife is obliged to provide the husband with a full account of the expenses, receiving the money against the account, showing the husband the checks. If suddenly the spouse is against, she has the right to refuse such a scheme. As well as from any encroachment on the husband's money ...
Strong and independent woman
Having come to Svetlana with new rules of life and family budget, Pasha was absolutely sure of his success and was already mentally planning where they would spend everything they saved. But the wife of the elated husband discouraged... by their refusal.
Living only on her own small salary seemed less critical to her than it was humiliating to analyze every purchase and collect receipts against the report. She calmly agreed to a separate budget and to the fact that since such things are, then everyone now provides for himself and takes care of himself. Including feeds and cooks for himself from the products that he bought with his own money.
Trap for a single man
The young man, who fell from the caring hands of his mother immediately into the hands of his wife, who washed, cleaned and cooked for him, fell into his own trap. He was not as wealthy as he would have liked to rebuild his life at once, where there is no one to look after him. But his own pride and the coach's words about how a real master of life should behave did not leave his head. Don't back down or give up.
When there was an opportunity, Pasha went to dinner with his mother, who, of course, used whatever words his daughter-in-law did. During working hours, he had to spend money on full meals, which he had recently quite planned to save for completely different delights of life.
Once, apparently completely desperate, wanting to share and receive a portion of human sympathy, he told a colleague how he quietly got up at night, sneaking into the kitchen, and slurped his wife's ice soup from refrigerator ...
"This is my own husband!"
Did the conscience torment the Light? Not at all. Even though she didn’t have enough stars from the sky, she was a proud girl, so groveling in front of the infantile Pasha, who all his life eagerly sought the approval of others and confirmation of his importance, she did not was going to.
From her friends, mother-in-law, her mother and other relatives, she almost always heard the same: “This is your own husband! How is it possible! Isn't it a pity? " But she had her own point of view. First, she wanted to teach her husband a lesson. Secondly, after all, he is a grown man in his 30s, not a baby. If he gets hungry, he will think of something.
It took quite a bit of time for the once loving spouses to turn into tenants.
Debriefing
Unfortunately, I do not know the final ending of this story. I soon quit my office, but later from my former colleagues I heard that Pasha started drinking, realizing that he was destroying his own family.
With all the controversy of both the joint and the separate budget, it turned out that the stumbling block between husband and wife was precisely the "daily bread". Pasha wanted complete submission from his wife, portraying himself as big and domineering. The fact of her refusal was unexpected, and a series of other surprises followed, such as the need to somehow feed himself, which he never did on his own.
Sveta, perhaps, was playing a hidden resentment, and she was waiting for her husband to come to his senses and realize that the life that lies on her is not such a trifle. I didn't want to cook for him in principle, because:
a) this is a manifestation of care, and she did not want to show it;
b) once every man for himself - let it be so down to the smallest detail.
I sometimes tell this story to friends and acquaintances when it comes to family relationships and budget. And the question always hangs in the air: should a wife feed her husband if he does not support her and everyone is for himself?
Surprisingly, there are a lot of complaints against a woman in such situations. She must be wise, kind, affectionate, understanding, caring. Even if the husband is a little... confused. At the same time, the husband himself can be a domestic tyrant (even if he is clumsily trying to be one), and this is not considered a disadvantage.
"This is a man!" - Someone would surely say if the initial plan of the careless Pasha came true. But it turned out differently.
