Doctors called the products that will help prevent a heart attack, writes med2.
Honey in the diet reduces the amount of arterial plaque by 30%.
A new study conducted by scientists from the University of Washington showed that the natural sugar in honey can prevent heart attacks.
Known as trehalose, the sugar activates the protein that causes the immune cells to remove adhesive from the arteries of plaque. Trehalose reduces plaque size by approximately 30%, according to a study with laboratory mice.
When this kind of plaques begin to accumulate in the arteries, then the person develops a disorder called atherosclerosis. This can lead to hardening of the arteries, a reduction in the degree of their elasticity, because of which people are at risk of high blood pressure, heart disease and even heart attacks. Trehalose is also found in mushrooms lobster and shrimp.
Scientists have worked hard to rodents at risk for atherosclerosis, trehalose or other types of sugar. Some mice also received oral trehalose. The results showed that mice treated with this kind of sugar plaque size was reduced to 0.25 mm compared to 0.35 mm in the animals that did not receive this kind of sugar.
Thus, plaque size was reduced by 30%, which is of great clinical value in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
