3 December celebrated around the world International Day of Disabled Persons (International Day of Disabled Persons). This day is intended to draw attention to the needs of people with disabilities. After all, people with disabilities need special social security at the legislative level. We need to protect and parents raising children with disabilities. What social guarantees have mothers who are bringing up children with disabilities in Ukraine?
According to Ukrainian law, children with disabilities are entitled to benefits. The right to social security are mothers and fathers who are raising a child with disabilities. On what benefits can rely parents who have kids with disabilities?
Allowance for the care of a disabled child:
- allowance for caring for a child with disabilities subgroup A under the age of 6 years - 1 minimum subsistence level for children under 6 years; for a child with disabilities subgroup A in age from 6 to 18 years - 1, cost of living for children aged 6 to 18 years;
- allowance for caring for a child with other disability groups shall be set at: on a child under the age of 6 years - 50 per cent of the subsistence level for children under 6 years; for a child aged from 6 to 18 years - 50 per cent of the subsistence level for children aged 6 to 18 years;
- allowance for caring for a child with disabilities under the age of 18 is assigned to one of the parents, adoptive parents, guardians, trustees, that do not work, do not study (except for distance learning), do not pass the service and actually caring for the child with disabilities.
Benefits for mothers of disabled children in Ukraine
If a family has a child with a disability, the mothers provided benefits at the legislative level.
Labor Relations:
- a woman with a disabled child is prohibited without the consent of her temporary transfer to another job, not due to labor contract, or send on business trips;
- woman who is raising a child with a disability is entitled to a reduction of working hours. For these women, at their request, to establish mandatory part-time or part-time;
- only with the consent of the woman who is raising a disabled child, it can be brought to work non-standard;
- the employer is obliged to give a mother of a disabled child for free or concessional tickets to the resort, as well as to pay the financial assistance;
- the mother of a disabled child is guaranteed the additional annual paid leave of 10 calendar days;
- single mothers forbidden to refuse to hire because of her disabled child;
- a single mother who has a child with a disability shall be employed without probation;
- employees raising a disabled child has the right to resign before the expiration of the 2-week period, if it is connected with the care of a disabled child;
- severance to employees having an adult child with a disability from childhood subgroup A first group paid monetary compensation for any unused days of the annual and supplementary vacation.

Pension
Mother of disabled children, raised them to the age of eight are entitled to retire on reaching 50 years old and have worked at least 15 years, with enrollment in the length of time for the care of children. The same law can take advantage of his father, alone raising a disabled child. He can retire at 55 years, have worked at least 20 years.
other benefits
One of the parents raising a child with a disability can receive benefits for income tax.
Also accompanying the disabled child has the right to parental benefits when traveling on public transport.
