Classic autumn style is coats, leather, suede, knitwear, discreet colors and elegant prints. Fashion brands dress us in fashion trends, and even if we are indifferent to them, we still reconsider our everyday wardrobe. Now we wear muted and saturated tones instead of bright ones, dense warm fabrics instead of airy ones, and in place of floral patterns comes a universal and always relevant check.
Checkered clothes never go out of fashion, and the checkered one comes back to us in different guises every new autumn-winter season. Introducing 10 looks from Martina Berg, a fashionable 50+ German woman who shows off simple everyday looks with plaid.
1. Checkered pencil skirt
A very simple everyday look for early autumn, the comfort of which is indicated by a short jacket and comfortable shoes. Of course, you should not wear such a plaid skirt with wide hips, but otherwise it is a matter of personal fashion courage.
2. Checkered coat in yellow-beige tones
Shades of yellow are a bold decision for women of any age, especially after 50 years. Deep, rich shades of yellow are perfect for fall, and Martina shows off a beautiful look in yellows that are broken down with white and beige. The soloist here is a checkered coat, which makes the image dynamic and “vibrating”.
3. Large check buttonless coat
Checks and fringes are characteristic of scarves that can transform any autumn look. Martina is dressed in a minimalist coat without buttons, but in a large check, which is decorated with fringe along the bottom edge. A wide leather belt with a massive buckle “picks up” the coat, which gives the image a brutal “zest”.
4. Plaid pantsuit
A checkered trouser suit in gray-blue tones can be "calmed" and "encouraged" at the same time with a bright blue coat. The whole set is made in blue tones, which will undoubtedly appeal to fans of shades of blue, and just blue-eyed fashionistas.
5. Plaid tartan jacket
Scottish plaid can be hated and adored, but it is impossible to be indifferent to it. Martina demonstrates an active outfit in red, which is diluted only by a white blouse, timidly peeking out from under a plaid jacket, tied with a wide strap.
6. Coat in black and white "houndstooth"
Martina explained that it was a special holiday look for a Christmas party, and it is clear from it that this is clearly not an everyday outfit. A black and white oversized houndstooth coat with gold buttons makes the look more casual without violating its solemnity.
7. Jacket-jacket in beige-orange check
Shades of brown are always soft, stylish and safe. A short plaid jacket soothes the brightness of a luscious pumpkin top. A checkered scarf in Martina's hands will elegantly complement and enhance the layered checkeredness of this fall outfit.
8. Pantsuit in black and white check
A small black and white checkerboard looks standard, so it can be perceived as flat and uninteresting. Not in this look, which has a bright red top. Shoes for this set are clearly thought out: ankle boots with a light decor on a black background, go well with a small black and white check.
9. Black mesh check dress
If the dress were black, it would look banal, but it has a large grid-mesh formed by thin stripes. Accessories give a “highlight” to the outfit: a belt with a large buckle, a miniature handbag with “studs” and patent leather shoes with white contrasting stripes.
10. Gray suit with plaid dress and coat
Images in shades of gray look incredibly noble if it is collected by clothes and accessories made of soft textured fabrics - cashmere, wool, felt, knitwear. This kit is proof of that. The plaid dress and coat form a beautiful elegant base, which is complemented by thick gray tights, a 1920s-style bell hat and a pale gray handbag.
