Of all the bad habits inherent in man, smoking does the most damage.

By and large, this delayed suicide, here I am absolutely categorical.

The very first recommendation that patients receive from me is to quit smoking as soon as possible. This action alone will solve a significant part of the health problem.

But I understand how difficult it is.

It is not for nothing that several of my acquaintances, quite successful people, consider the moment of quitting smoking - one of the most significant things they have done in their lives. And this despite the fact that they opened huge companies, achieved success in their careers, sports and personal lives.

Quitting smoking is an important turning point, the beginning of a new healthy life.

And, honestly, I would take away diplomas from those doctors who, based on imaginary philanthropy, tell smokers with experience “if you smoke for so many years, then smoke more.” Such a recommendation sounds especially terrible for a person after a complex operation, especially oncological. And I run into this all the time.

Five types of cancer caused by smoking

According to the American Cancer Society website, the following cancers are most often associated with smoking:

80% - lung cancer,

77% - cancer of the larynx,

50% - cancer of the esophagus, oral cavity and bladder,

24% - liver cancer,

10% - colon cancer.

Add to this practically obligatory chronic bronchitis accompanying smokers and cardiovascular diseases the most important cause of modern mortality.

And against this background of life and death, the reluctance to quit smoking because of the fear of getting fat looks ridiculous. Dear ones, once you solve the problem with smoking, everything else will be much easier. Smoking is the stone that drags us to the bottom.

You may be encouraged to quit smoking by the fact that there is no safe level of tobacco smoke. You smoke - and everyone around you breathe, your family and friends, children. And in infants, for example, it can cause sudden death.

The most important question is how to quit smoking?

Many are helped by pills that make cigarettes taste disgusting - you can ask them at any pharmacy. You can also use nicotine patches.
