I must say, you asked me a difficult task - to tell, what can replace pasta, rice and potatoes, which are the most popular side dishes in our country. I had to strain my memory.
Let's start with the simple idea that garnish is not required at all. Think about it, maybe you should eat a larger piece of meat or fish, and have a bite of bread and salad?
Second - I'm not saying that these products are harmful, by no means. But they starchy, high in simple carbohydrates. Accordingly, it is very easy to gain weight on them. Therefore, it is better to eat them in limited quantities.
And they need to be replaced with non-starchy vegetables.
Among my favorites are:
1. Cabbage different varieties. It can be both in the form of salads, and in stewed, and boiled form.
2. I love you very much beans. It can be both an independent dish and a side dish.
3. Any green salad, microgreens.
4. Pumpkin. Very few calories, lots of flavor.
5. Zucchini. I love them.
6. Spinach. It can be fresh, it can be poached.
7. Cucumber-tomatoes. The perfect garnish.
8. Carrots, beets. You can make salads out of them. The only thing is that these vegetables have a lot of sugars, so you need to know the measure.
9. Algae and various seaweed.
10. Mushrooms.
11. Avocado (as part of salads)
12. Asparagus. This is exotic for most Russians, but worth a try. In addition, they say, you can grow it in your garden.
The only thing I would suggest is boiled vegetables for dinner to help my digestive tract a little.
And be sure to drink plenty of water, as the fiber found in vegetables requires it. And with a deficiency, it will begin to draw water from the body.
