Each person, to one degree or another, depends on the opinions of others and worries about what they will think of him if he does this, or does otherwise.
The questions that concern most people when making decisions are:
What will others say?
What will I look like?
What if they laugh at me?
What if I hurt someone?
What will people think?
What if my words / actions hurt someone?
Etc. etc.
With such an approach, there can be no question of any self-confidence. As long as you are guided by the opinions of others, you will be overcome by a sense of awkwardness and embarrassment when communicating and making decisions.
And so, below is the recipe for self-confidence:
First of all, think about how you feel when interacting with people. If you feel bad, not comfortable, offended - do not be silent! No matter how much you want to please everyone around you, you will never be able to do this. And with a probability of 99.9% you will be used, but not respected in any way.
All people think about themselves, first of all, even if it seems to you that you care about others, you think about YOURSELF! Read the questions above, they are all asked in order to look good, kind, sympathetic in the eyes of others. You think about yourself, how you look and what you do to others.
If you want to become more confident, act according to your own benefit:
- Don't let yourself be offended. Nobody has the right to do this!
- Say NO firmly, without fawning. You are not in bondage!
- Don't think about how you look. Are you okay!
- Think about how you feel. And if you feel bad - talk about it. You are entitled to it!
- If a person does not understand what makes you feel bad, despite your words, leave. You are not a prisoner!
- No need to endure insults and humiliation. Talk about your feelings. You don't need to hide them!
Self-confidence is not about turning up your nose and humiliating others. This is about the ability to put yourself in a position where you yourself are responsible for everything that happens around you. This is about the skill to make your communication with others comfortable for you. And the most important thing is the feeling that you feel good about what you are doing.
