Named the best diet in the world for several years in a row mediterranean. It has virtually no contraindications, and it prolongs active longevity thanks to the abundance of vegetables, fresh fish and olive oil. But, for example, in Ukraine, it is quite difficult to adhere to the Mediterranean style of food. Especially in winter, when fresh vegetables - the cat cried. Doctor Andrey Beloveshkin called a diet that suits absolutely everyone and which has no contraindications. This is the "slow diet" (slow diet).

“The main rule of the “slow diet” is that the duration of the meal is at least 20 minutes. To be more precise, slow food is less than 65 grams per minute, fast food is more than 100. Slow eating has many health benefits: you get full sooner and stay full longer, eat 88 kcal without limit less at a time, you have less risk of heartburn and indigestion, and you get more pleasure from eating," says Andrey Beloveshkin.

There are many ways to slow yourself down at the table. For instance:

  • use appliances,
  • "complex" food (fish, pomegranate, nuts),
  • chew more carefully
  • put away appliances
  • communicate,
  • eat mindfully
  •  discuss food.
"By the way, about chewing - and after all, among other things, this is also training! By chewing your food thoroughly, you burn 2,000 extra calories a month."
- says the doctor.

Food can be both meditation and a work meeting. Remember that fast food is not only what is sold at McDonald's, it is everything that you eat quickly. Therefore, good food can become fast food if you eat it quickly.

"This applies to books, and to people, and to films. Slow down - it will bring you back to the present moment and let them enjoy it."
