A barn for receiving guests, a cornfield and a water well. What surprises Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's farmhouse in the prestigious Beverly Hills area?

The famous Hollywood couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher never cease to amaze the audience. Not so long ago, we wrote about their unusual attitude to hygiene: they rarely wash, believing that a regular shower washes away the protective layer from the skin and weakens the immune system. For the same reason, Kunis and Kutcher do not "wash" their children, daughter Wyatt and son Dimitri

No sooner had the couple's fans divided into critics and supporters of the "Hollywood unwashed", as Kunis and Kutcher threw in a new reason for discussion. Last year, the family completed five years of work on the home, which is recognized as one of the greenest in all of Los Angeles. Ashton Kutcher admits that he tried to make his home look like an old barn. And his wife was not at all against such an original idea.

To build a house, the family bought a plot on one of the hills in the prestigious Beverly Hills. It was necessary to start from scratch, and at first it was very frightening for the spouses. The work on the project was supposed to either rally them, or lead to discord in the relationship, said Kunis in one of her interviews. To fight less, she and her husband decided to separately collect ideas for construction and interior design, and then show them to each other.

The couple collected ideas on mood boards in the Pinterest app. And when we exchanged moodboards, it turned out that 90% of the saved pictures are the same. Both Mila and Ashton dreamed of a small (by Hollywood standards) house, stylized as a country farm. Only natural materials (wood, wood concrete and glass) were to be used in construction. And the design had to be simple, laconic, but at the same time thought out to the smallest detail.

Most of the homes that Kunis and Kutcher chose for example were designed by one person. This is Howard Bucken, who is called the author of the modern and high-tech "farmhouse". In construction and decoration, he uses "rustic" materials that allow him to give housing an eco-friendly appearance and a cozy atmosphere. But at the same time, Baken masterfully inscribes all the technical functionality available today.

When the Hollywood couple started working with Buken, the architect wondered what little things they could get into. Before laying the foundation, Mila and Ashton took soil and water samples from the hill, and dug a well from which they will take water for life. One of the conditions of the couple was the installation of solar panels on the roof - they completely provide the house with renewable (green) energy. In addition, the couple discussed with the architect the beams and ceilings, the details of the fasteners and each material used in the construction. “We don't talk about such topics with every client,” Baken told reporters.

The meticulousness of Kunis and Kutcher paid off. For five years of construction on a site with an area of 24 thousand sq. sq. m, the main housing, a guest house (the couple calls it nothing but a barn for receiving guests), a recreation area, a pool and a barbecue appeared. The ensemble of the buildings actually resembles a village estate, and certainly does not look like the pompous mansions of Hollywood celebrities.

True, the interior designer had to work hard to "fit" into the farmhouse the original furniture that the couple brought from different countries of the world. For example, a giant crystal chandelier three meters high did not fit into the interior of the house at all. She had to be hung in a barn to receive guests. But the throne chairs, which Ashton Kutcher bought in his time in India, found their place in the bathroom, which offers a royal view of the Hollywood hills.

Interestingly, in addition to residential buildings, the farmhouse of Hollywood stars also has a "vegetable garden". During strict quarantine, Mila sowed corn with her children and managed to harvest a decent harvest. There was so much corn that I had to distribute it to friends and acquaintances. After this experiment, the family decided to name their home KuKu Farms.
