Hello my beauties!
I think many of you are familiar with the situation: after shopping, we return home with large packages, bought a lot of dresses, high-heeled shoes, ankle boots, cardigans, etc., and wear nothing.
The closet is already cracking, all the clothes and shoes bought do not fit into it, you are thinking of buying a second closet, but there is nowhere to put it. And still nothing to wear. Why it happens? Yes, because we make three main mistakes that we simply do not want to realize, but we will have to, because you will save money and shopping will become more conscious and pragmatic.
We buy things because we lack something in life
As psychologists say, recognizing a problem is already almost 50% of its solution. And I must admit that a beautiful evening dress, which we have never put on, but bought simply because we do not have enough of those very evening events where we can beautifully and effectively "go out".
We buy light suede boots when the landscape outside the window shouts to us that nothing will shine for you, dear, with such a porridge of snow and sand, except for black low-heeled boots or Chelsea boots. There is a lack of European architecture, a stroll along the Parisian boulevard Saint Germain des Prés, a stunning model for a couple of minutes.
A lot of sportswear in our wardrobe that we don't wear indicates a lack of sports and an active lifestyle. Subconsciously, we want to go in for sports for a long time, but something interferes: the weather for jogging, laziness, an expensive subscription to the gym, etc.
Now I always adhere to this theory that we compensate with clothes for what is lacking in life. Before buying, I ask myself the question: "How soon will the time come when I will wear this beauty?" If objectively I am still far from walking along the Parisian boulevard, then I will not carry a beautiful thing at the checkout, albeit with sadness in my soul.
I aimed to buy a specific item, but I bought what was
Shopping should always be focused. I saw beautiful shoes or a down jacket on the instagram of one showroom - I went for them. If I didn’t have time and they are not available or it’s bad for me, I’ll go home with nothing.
Previously, in such cases, I drove to the mall in search of something similar to what I was planning to buy. Well, after all, the lady was not destined to go out into the street and return with nothing! All impulses to achieve what was conceived today initially ended in pointless purchases, we will not wear 80% of everything bought in this "mode".
Therefore, my dears, either we go home with nothing, or we are looking for what we wanted to win. Even if "plan B" is good for us, but our soul does not belong to this thing, we do not buy. All the same, since the soul demanded another, the same one, then we will never wear a replacement for it. Alas, this is the harsh truth of a shopaholic's life.
Buying an item that doesn't match the rest of your wardrobe
This is perhaps the most common of all mistakes. We buy an item simply because we like it, but we don’t think at all about how it will be combined with the rest of the wardrobe. After the purchase, we do not wear it, it gathers dust in the closet attracting a moth. And all because there is nothing to wear it with.
Therefore, before buying any thing, it is better to make at least mentally bows with the rest of your clothes. If you got it from three different images, then you can safely take the thing.
What mistakes do you make in putting together your perfect wardrobe? Do you have a lot of unnecessary things in your closet that have not been worn since the moment of purchase? Share your opinion in the comments :-)
