At 23, Tracy-Thomas took the first step towards physical transformation. He began to take hormonal drugs with testosterone, which made him visually similar to a man. Several years later, Thomas decided to undergo gender reassignment surgery. Then there was the question of removing the female reproductive system, but the man decided to keep it with him. “I really wanted children, and I thought that if necessary I could get pregnant and carry a baby on my own,” Thomas said in an interview with American TV presenter Oprah Winfrey.

And so it happened. At the age of 29, Thomas (at that time he was already a man legally, according to all documents) married a girl named Nancy. However, his chosen one, for medical reasons, could not have children. Then Thomas decided to endure and give birth to a child on his own. To do this, he and his wife used frozen sperm from a donor - and the fertilization process took place at home and using an ordinary syringe.
