Aloe vera: sap or dangerous poison?

Traditionally, the majority of Ukrainian homes on the windowsills, among other green pets, live aloe vera, or otherwise "agave". This plant is known for centuries for its medicinal properties, is used not only at home, but quite officially in authoritative pharmacology, medicine and cosmetology.

In particular, today medicine "amassed" thousands of recipes in which the aloe juice is a major or adjunct ingredient, which is a distinctive feature that can be used both externally and internally.

However, despite the obvious benefits, it does not mean that the aloe juice can be used "as we like" and "as we want." And, in general, whether it is so useful, as we think, or is still able to harm? Let's investigate.

Scientists have proved that in the composition of aloe - about two hundred components, including several kinds of amino acids, vitamins, natural antioxidants, minerals, polysaccharides, enzymes. In addition, the aloe juice contains the same amount of mineral salts, as in human blood serum.

Thanks to such an extensive track record of aloe

• has beneficial effects on many of the internal human organs, especially the stomach and the entire digestive system;

• helps to reduce blood sugar levels;

• helps in the treatment of anemia;

• has a healing effect;

• thanks to antiseptic properties, is successfully used in gynecology;

• used in the treatment of diseases associated with the respiratory system;

• helps in the treatment of colds;

• widely used in the manufacture of various drugs a wide range of actions;

• used in ophthalmology;

• used in cosmetology.

In addition to the above, the aloe is often used in cooking. For example, in India and Japan, it is added to various salads, and used as the basis for wine.

How dangerous aloe

As with any medication (due to its pharmacological properties, aloe belongs to this category) it should be taken only on doctor's prescription, especially when it comes to orally reception.
