Poltava region is famous for its delicious verguns. This is a festive pastry fried in vegetable oil. This dish is very popular with both children and adults. Verguns can be made small, large. Cooked according to this recipe, they turn out to be lush, tender and very tasty. How to make this delicacy at home - read on.
Ingredients:
• Flour - 2 glasses
• Kefir - 1 glass
• Vodka - 1 tsp.
• Eggs - 1 piece
• Sugar - 0.5 cups
• Baking powder - 1 sachet
• Vegetable oil - for frying
• Powdered sugar - for dusting
Preparation:
1. Knead the dough out of all the ingredients, it should not be tough.
2. Cover the dough with a towel and let sit for about half an hour.
3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, cut into strips.
4. In the middle of each strip, make an incision through which you want to turn the dough.
5. Fry in vegetable oil until golden brown on all sides.
6. While the verguns are hot, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
